the arsonist / and so remain

Artist : Pure Ground

Label : Weyrd Son Records

the arsonist / and so remain / 7"

Pure Ground is a minimal industrial/wave duo formed in Los Angeles in the spring of 2012. Members G. Holger & J. Short have over a decade of experience in both pop and experimental traditions. Making use exclusively of classic analog equipment, Pure Ground build a sonic template incorporating equal share of harmonious and discordant elements to drive their strain of rhythmic electronics. Present day dystopian realities and contemporary warfare influence the bands lyrical themes, with reference to 20th century science fiction and horror. Not limited to music composition, the band also makes forays into analog video work, much of which can be seen projected behind them at performances and in album art. Limited to 200 hand-numbered copies on 40gr black vinyl, cardboard sleeve with gold foil printing. Get it fast ;)

standard of living

Artist : Pure Ground

Label : Avant!

standard of living / LP

'Standard Of Living', the new LP by Los Angeles's Pure Ground, finds the duo moving further into the whirring electrical storm only suggested at by their more minimalist previous recordings, creating a soundtrack to a crumbling culture full of provisional one-two rhythms and syncopated bursts of white noise, complimented by grim arpeggiated melodies. Pure Ground have created a niche in the L.A. hard electronics underground making exclusive use of analog hardware to arrive at their sound, which straddles a fine line between early EBM on tracks like Poison and Second Skin, owing inspiration to Belgium's Klinik and Front 242, and more melancholy minimal-synth on downers In Silence and Tides. The one element that binds the new LP is the undercurrent of experimentalism pervasive in every song, which at times comes to surface on tracks like The "Glory Of Absence", which merges the convoluted rhythms of In Phaze era Portion Control with an industrial din and vocal delivery reminiscent of European power electronics groups like Genocide Organ. Lyrical themes focus on the disharmony between the natural, even spiritual, world, with the human dystopia of the post-industrial wastes, and the contradictory sensations of bliss and desperation, ecstasy and fear, bred in this climate. This is music for the end of days. Limited edition of 300 copies with inside-out jacket & printed inner sleeve..!

Pure Ground is a minimal industrial/wave duo formed in Los Angeles in the Spring of 2012. Making use of a great assortment of analog and digital hardware, Pure Ground creates hard electronics teaming with rhythmic white noise and unsettling melody as the backdrop over which the group explores lyrical themes of present-day dystopian realities, sleeplessness and the supernatural, and the eventual triumph of the natural world over a human civilization in rapid decline. Not limited to music composition, the band also makes forays into analog video work, much of which can be seen projected onto them during live performances and in album art. count doekoe / 12"

More wacky electro booty antics from our favorite Rotterdam tuinbroeken hooligan crew, this time a 4 track ep with a strong anti drugs message in the tradition of "Crack Killed Applejack". Also includes a remix of the Katendrecht anthem "Are You Ghetto Enough" from Seymour 'De Jeugd Van Tegenwoordig' Bits. Tip !

Artist : Pyrolator

Label : Ata Tak

ficcion disco / 7"

Pyrolator was the solo guise of German synth experimenter Kurt Dahlke, best known as a member of the groundbreaking (if underexposed) post-punk/synth pop band Der Plan. Like that group, Pyrolator was chiefly inspired by the synthetic sleekness of Kraftwerk and the dissident surrealism of The Residents, fitting squarely into the emerging German new wave movement...Here is its most leftfield disco orientated release...

difference that makes a difference (elektronische werke part 2)

Artist : Q-Chip

Label : Solar One Music

difference that makes a difference (elektronische werke part 2) / 12"

Absent since sharing space with Ali Renault on the split LP for Bunker back in 2012, the artist known as Q-Chip resurfaces in style with 'Difference That Makes A Difference', a 12" platter for Solar One Music that continues the label's 'Elektronische Werke' series. Much like last year's inaugural 'Elektronische Werke' release from Frenchman Dynarec, Q-Chip uses the series to explore the darker, unhinged end of the electro spectrum across 4 productions. In Q-Chip's world, the future is a place of paranoia and crumbling civilisation, be it the harsh synth lines and snapping 808 rhythms of opening track "Pleasure Anxiety" or the more classicist take on subaqueous electro bounce that permeates the title production and "Sence Data". Fat one ;)

goodbye horses

Artist : Q. Lazzarus

Label : Mon Amie Records

goodbye horses / 12"

Reissue in honor of 25th anniversary of the original release written by William Garvey, and sung by Q. Lazzarus. This track was 1st released via the 'Married To The Mob' soundtrack, and notably featured in 'Silence of The Lambs'. The single has been long out of print, but now for the 1st time in years, it is available again on 12" vinyl b/w a haunting collaborative cover by Domino Records artists Hayden Thorpe of 'Wild Beasts' and Jon Hopkins. According to Garvey, 'the song is about transcendence over those who see the world as only earthly and finite. The horses represent the 5 senses from Hindu philosophy and the ability to lift one's perception above these physical limitations and to see beyond this limited earthly perspective'. Fitting with the original meaning, Hayden and Jon capture the transcendence of the original track in all its melancholy and profound glory. Essential !!

q1 deluxe edition 1980-1983

Artist : Q4U

Label : Dark Entries

q1 deluxe edition 1980-1983 / LP

Q4U was born the winter of 1980-1981 in Reykjavík, inspired by the British punk movement. It's original members were Elínborg Halldórsdóttir (Ellý) (vocals), Berglind Garđarsdóttir (Linda) (vocals), Steinţór Stefánsson (guitar), Gunnţór Sigurđsson (bass), Helgi (drums) and Már (synthesizer). Helgi and Már soon left the band and Helgi was replaced by Kormákur Geirharđsson (Kommi) on the drums. By early 1982 they self-released a full length cassette, 'Skaf Í Dag' and appeared in the documentary Rokk í Reykjavík, which showcased the Icelandic punk scene. This version of the band ended and only 2 members continued on. In the summer of 1982 Ellý and Gunnţór recruited Óđinn Guđbrandsson (guitar) and Árni Daníel (synthesizer) from the band Taugadeildin. Their drummer was replaced by a Roland TR-808 drum machine they named Elísabet II, signaling a change in the group's sound toward synthesizer-driven post punk. In august 1983 Q4U reinstated Kormákur to record a final set of demos and then called it quits. This compilation collects 16 songs from 1980-1983. Side A features the original 6 songs from the 'Q1' ep, plus 2 songs from the 'Rokk Í Reykjavík' soundtrack. Side B collects 4 demos from 1982 and 4 demos from 1983, all presented on vinyl for the 1st time ever. Q4U began with a stylish, aggressive punk image before experimenting with drum machines and synthesizers, which almost nobody did in Reykjavík at the time. The later sound had gothic leanings, often compared with Siouxsie and the Banshees and Xmal Deutschland. Their body of work is united by the powerful vocals of Ellý, who mostly sings in Icelandic about controversial, political experiences, much like Ari Up of The Slits. The vinyl comes housed in a full color jacket using the original artwork from the 'Q1' ep. Each LP includes a double sized fold-out poster with lyrics, photos and drawings by the band plus a Q4U sticker! 30 years after their break-up Q4U are finally getting the vinyl reissue treatment they deserve, shedding a light on this pre-Riot grrrl act, more relevant today than ever..

Artist : Quadratschulz

Label : Shipwrec

ww303 / 2x12"

Quadratschulz delivers his debut album 'WW303'. 10 tracks make up this vision, a vision of lazers, pulsing neon and gleaming chrome. Arcade game memories. Curls of acid. Electrofunk vocals. Synth-wave chic. And even some past greats. All are lovingly folded together in this rich and diverse collection. Styles are juxtaposed. 303 bars throb and strings soar in the lilting "Der Rasende Roland" whereas "Robotic Dancer" struts to a future-world funk. Quadratschulz sculpts his sound with a wonderfully warm and autumnal quality, as in the cascading synth showers of "Ferrofluid." Yet there are colder moments, the frigid flows of "Kran" sprouting into the chilly house tones of "Piloten", a tribute to the groundbreaking LFO is also included. Bleep festooned chicanery is the offering as "Ring The Bell" takes you back to the infamous warehouse parties of 90's Britain. And if that weren't enough, the 2xLP also comes with downloads for some cracking remixes by DMX Krew, Andreas Gehm, Kettel, Chris Moss Acid and Posthuman to name but a few. A wide angle view of Quadratschulz's unique sound.

Artist : Qual

Label : Avant!

sable / LP

Qual is Lebanon Hanover's bassist and vocalist William Maybelline. With his solo project he aims to examine his personal view on music, Maybelline moved from the pop touch of well-known and respected main band of his to cruise the slums of darker and even more extreme electronics. To quote William's own words, Qual is about vile visions, despaired in a frowning black tower of pain. Concealed yearns of a desolate heart, trying to scratch that unscratchable rotting itch from within. Centuries of sorrow drenched in gloomy electronics that palpitate like human passions. A call for help. 33rpm black vinyl LP edition housed in UV glossy jackets. Comes with lyrics insert and free digital download coupon..

cupio dissolvi

Artist : Qual

Label : Avant!

cupio dissolvi / 12"

Lebanon Hanover's bassist William Maybelline is back with his solo project. After the debut album 'Sable' from 2015, Qual strikes back with a 3-track 12" maxi-single. Each one of these new songs explore a different dimension of Maybelline's approach to body/wave electronics. The title-track "Cupio Dissolvi" is what we may already call classic Qual: gloomy and throbbing, synth-driven and labyrinthine. "A Bloody Blob" explores new martial slants, with war-like timpani and a marching robot gait. "Rape Me In The Parthenon" is a 8 minute long dancefloor mayhem anthem scanned by some pounding techno drumbeat and EBM snare and pads. By far the most extreme track Qual recorded so far. “Buried in flowers with hands of gold / Buried together we'll never mold” shall be thy epitaph here, as well as your message engraved on virgin vinyl. Limited to 500 copies !

the ultimate climax

Artist : Qual

Label : Avant!

the ultimate climax / LP

Qual is finally back with his much-anticipated 2nd full-length. On The 'Ultimate Climax' album, Lebanon Hanover's bassist and vocalist William Maybelline takes the hints of his previous 'Cupio Dissolvi' ep to a fully extended sulphurous formula reaching new, bizarre heights. Brooding industrial meets powered-up disco nightmares with EBM-like volcals, electro-funk basslines match hardcore techno gone post-goth. Limited to 500 copies. Comes with double-face poster !!

the opium den (parts V-VIII)

Artist : Ra-X

Label : Mighty Robot

the opium den (parts V-VIII) / 12"

The 2nd release on Scotland's Mighty Robot label sees Ra-X deliver the concluding parts of his outstanding "Opium Den" series; a twisted journey through deepest, darkest Europe, via the misty mountains of Kashmir and the seedy smoking dens of Shanghai. This time the Angelmaker is going straight for the heart with some of the most emotionally charged electronics we've heard in years. Pressed on pure, refined, white vinyl. Cool...

Artist : Ra-X

Label : Angelmaker

remixxes / 12"

This 12" contains 6 Ra-X classics, remixed by Ra-X's own favourite producers and friends from the field of electro and electronic music. The moods and music range from slowtech and dub all the way to hard and extreme electronic warfare beats and the many styles inbetween. Limited on white vinyl.

leben und tod

Artist : Ra-X

Label : Kommando 6

leben und tod / 12"

Ra-X is the Dutchman Vincet Koreman, who is also known as a member of the bands The Travoltas and Speedboat F.C. The dark electronic music that he makes under the moniker Ra-X has little resemblance to these 2 projects. For years he has released his music through well known labels as Bunker and KK Records. With "Leben Und Tod", released by the German dark electro label Kommando 6, Ra-X proves to be part of the European electro top. Opening song "Die Wahrheit" is a distorted and gloomy electro track that every devotee of the genre will instantly like. It is a good dance track and, in any case within the genre, an original piece of music. The tin can and industrial sound of this song is also evident in "Smack City Sewer Anthem". Songs like "1987" and "Viper" are more traditional with typical bleeps and nice doomy synth layers. "Leben Und Tod" is again an excellent release in the Kommando 6 series..!

keine richtung ep

Artist : Raderkraft

Label : Testlab Records

keine richtung ep / 12"

Testlab recently opened its doors, welcoming guests with a tape of demos and live tracks from a hometown institution. In the 80's 'De Koer' was a haunt for wave artists, industrial interlopers and synth stalkers. And after that walk down memory lane the fledgling label is ready for a contemporary take. Raderkraft, a project by Willem Stinissen, caught the ear of Eddy de Clercq, a pioneer of the Netherlands wave scene and boss of Testlab. And on listening to 'Keine Richtung' you can hear why. Cold, yet surprisingly playful, "Das Leben" is a synth track that seems to smile at the serious situation it finds itself in. Vocals sternly scold plodding melodies in a strangely parental manner. Racing on rapid fire rhythms is the speeding joy of "Wir Sind Zufrieden". Notes are stark but that tongue in cheek element is again present, that touch of the early experimenters coming to the fore. "Der Rundgang" follows the same sprinting percussion. Arpeggios rumble through rain soaked streets, neon flashing in snare rolls and cascading chords. "Keine Richtung" taps into Club Lederhosen's post-punk past. Brash and bold bars are hammered by beats. Vocals are scorched by distortion and static. The track is fast, sweat stained and fiery and dripping in angst. Stinissen mentions his love of pre-MIDI sounds and Raderkraft certainly has an uncluttered style. The coldness of electro is ever present, but there is also a freewheeling quality to the ep. With respectful nods to past fixed forms, this stripped down outing has that individual streak that makes it stand out from the angular crowd.

Artist : Radio Romance

Label : Virgin

seul / mort à venise / 12"

Radio Romance was born in Lille (north of France) in 1978-79. Their 1st tape recording appeared on the compilation "From Brussels With Love" among other Belgian and British bands. They quickly met musicians from Taxi-Girl with whom they recorded this one and only 12" vinyl single produced Mirwais at that time. 20.000 copies were sold before the band splited in 1983. Here is a chance to grab that rare record now..

sports / tools

Artist : Radio-Logg

Label : WeMe Records

sports / tools / LP

Stian Gjevik (EOD,CN), passionate and curious about electronic music, found in a Trondheim thrift store a tape of the Norwegian legendary project : the educational music 'Sports/Tools'. He contacted one of the two composers called Dildrian Schrodinger. He has managed to negociate with him a deal for a vinyl license with WéMč Records. We can find in this project ordered by the Norwegian state all an experimentation work with electronic machines from the 80's. It is sometimes accompanied by a clumsy singing quite modern at that time. Boombasstic !!

dive and lie wrecked

Artist : Radioactive Man

Label : Rotters Golf Club

dive and lie wrecked / 12"

Keith Tenniswood goes rampant with the bass and beats, 3 tracks of seriously stripped electro, hoover-esque noises and sick basslines. "'ave That" romps through bassbins, and will destroy floors, while my choice of the 12" is split between 2 tracks, "Basskick Element" with its serious 808 kicks given the decay treatment and "You Can't Catch Me" with a drum'n'bass variation. Top styles !

lydernar e.p.

Artist : Random Fluctuations

Label : Kromode Records

lydernar e.p. / 12"

Interesting electro-techno ep released in 1995 by Random Fluctuations (aka Marco Repetto) on the Italian Kromode label. Raw and syncopated Detroit orientated techno tracks with great drum programming. The ending opus is a soft and spacy bubbling Idm gem to feed your brain !

minimal scheissegal

Artist : Rasputeen

Label : Hertz-Schrittmacher

minimal scheissegal / 7"

Rasputeen is a side project by well-known electronic music activist Philip Münch, known for his works in The Rorschach Garden or with Keen K. Rasputeen is like an out of control version of Rorschach Garden, not so melodic and just much weirder with lyrics that must be heaven-sent… Solid minimal electro with some similarity to DAF maybe. Limited to 300 copies !

dancing on the Berlin wall

Artist : Rational Youth

Label : Rams Horn

dancing on the Berlin wall / 12"

Cult track released in 1989 on the Dutch deviant discoďd Rams Horn label, and taken from the "Cold War Night Life" album (Yul Records) of the Canadian band Rational Youth. "Dancing On The Berlin Wall" is 100% electro and built aroud a very famous Kraftwerk's loop you will recognize by yourself ;-) Strong lyrics of course ! Oldschool powerful electronic music that sounds very modern aimed to get your head of the ground. "Close to Nature" is a cool, deep artificial musical trip that demonstrates the perfect skills of this band which is still active nowadays. They used perfect machines. Absolutely fabulous !

Artist : Rational Youth

Label : Capitol Records

heredity / LP

The album "Heredity" was released in 1985. The decision to release this album under the name Rational Youth was Capitol's, although Tracy Howe concurred at the time, because he had never wanted to become a solo artist. "Heredity" was an eclectic and freewheeling collection, which, although something of a deviation from the classic Rational Youth analogue synthpop style (especially in its use of guitars), was released to great critical acclaim in Canada, and yielded the hit "No More And No Less", as well as the singles "Call Me", and "Bang On".

the future is now in your hands

Artist : Red Fetish

Label : Anna Logue Records

the future is now in your hands / 7"

Red Fetish was a minimal electronic pop outfit founded by Neale Potts & Mike Richardson from Stoke-On-Trent, UK, presenting here 4 classic minimal electronic synth-pop hits recorded back in 1982-1983 using a rather minimalistic set-up comprising a Korg KR-55, Korg 770, Korg SD-900 and Yamaha CS-10. This one little beauty is especially for those into a more raw and unpolished analogue synth sound in the vein of early Neon Judgement, Neural Circus, Spotch Forcey or Transparent Illusion. Limited edition in solid red vinyl, full colour UV varnished sleeve, full colour labels and double-sided postcard with lyrics and additional infos ;)

a derangement of synapses

Artist : Red Fetish

Label : Medical Records LLC

a derangement of synapses / LP

Hand-picked selection of home recorded demos from Stoke, UK's Red Fetish. Armed with a Korg 770, Yamaha CS10, Korg Rhythm 55, a guitar here and there and a Teac 244 4-track recorder, the band consisted of Neale James Potts & Mike Richardson. Red Fetish featured members from All The Madmen and Decades By Night and later evolved into The Cone and Tiger Club. These tracks were recorded in 1982-83 and all culled from various cassettes that the band recorded. The tracks for this special release (technically not a reissue) were hand picked by Medical Records out of a large demo collection (often multiple versions of certain songs). Red Fetish was heavily influenced by UK late 70's new-wave as well as rock staples such as Pink Floyd, Beatles, and Hawkwind. The songs are built from very minimal and sparse synth lines yet the overall feel is interestingly dense and warm. Standout tracks include the playful and futuristic "Modern Age" and "The Last Man". A few of these tracks were previously released (different version) on a 7" on Anna Logue (Germany) but most have been largely unheard until now. Sprinkled in amongst the catchy vocal pop songs are quite a few very warm and synth heavy instrumentals as well such as "The Immortals" and "Blaze". This collection will absolutely be another piece of the highly intriguing and ever-deep well of minimal synth acts such as other contemporaries Oppenheimer Analysis, Twilight Ritual, Iron Curtain, and the like. Certainly fans of early Human League (especially The Future), early cassette culture wave and similar will enjoy this collection immensely. Remastered from cassette by Martin Bowes. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight half and half colored vinyl (red and white) with sleeve design by Steve Lippert. Limited edition release.

relaxed in upstate rain

Artist : Red Violet Red

Label : Domestica

relaxed in upstate rain / LP

In the summer of 1985, soundengineer Gary Zeftig records Red Violet Red at Music America Studios. They self produce and record 8 songs on 24-track analog 2" tape. Game Hen presses 2 of the songs to 12" vinyl single. 300 records are released including "12 Miles Of Sky" & "Candy Cane". Each record cover is hand painted with a green photo sticker and hand-numbered. A basement flood at Game Hen destroys 50 records making the original 250 records harder to collect. The song "12 Miles Of Sky" charts high on many US college radio stations. One year later Red Violet Red breaks up for creative differences, right before a record deal was offered. In 1986 Jeff & Lyle form the cult collector dark-wave band Eleven Pond. Cedric joins the alt-rock band Claude Rains. Jerry goes back to his family's stone cutting business. 25 years later, a Brooklyn Dj discovers the Red Violet Red 12" single and is currently playing "12 Miles Of Sky" to the minimal synth dance crowds at Weird in NYC. In Spain, Domestica Records discovered these unreleased gems and made this album finally available, 26 years after they were recorded... Enjoy!

Artist : Red Zebra / Portrait Bizarre

Label : Zebra Records

no kitchen in the house / jesus fell off my wall (we are here) / 7"

Some beasts refuse to die. One of them is the Belgian new-wave band Red Zebra. Altough it didn't look good at the end of last year when former gitarist Geert Maertens tried to kick singer Peter Slabbynck out of his own band. But Slabbynck strikes back. With the new single "No Kitchen In The House" he delivers a quality single with a refreshing sound. He surrounded himself with Fred Angst (Aroma Di Amore), Pascal Deweze (Metal Molly, Sukilove, Broken Glass Heroes) and Mauro Pwalowski (Evil Superstars, dEUS). And to make the single even more special, each single comes in a different sleeve. Red Zebra is ready to leave the zoo and hit the road once again. The B-Side is a new track by Portrait Bizarre. A cult band from Maasmechelen who has picked up their instruments and rises from their ashes. With underground tracks such as "The Invitation" and "Heat Up One Moment" they conquered many black hearts in the mid 80's. The title of the new track "Jesus Fell Of My Wall (We Are Here)" refers to the intense.... of frontman Guido Wampers. Limited to 500 copies..

pattern completion

Artist : RedRedRed

Label : Dark Entries

pattern completion / LP

Debut album by RedRedRed, a contemporary artist from San Francisco. Michael Wood, formerly of duo Primary Colors, began this project in 2012, taking inspiration from Front 242, Einsturzende Neubauten, Throbbing Gristle, Nietzsche and Sartre. Wood utilizes a simple setup of vintage analog synthesizers and drum machines, and records them on reel-to-reel. 'Pattern Completion' was originally planned as a 4 song cassette ep that was only released digitally. The A-side features remixed and remastered versions of the tracks from the ep. The B-side consists of 4 unreleased tracks, 2 of which are instrumental. The material on 'Pattern Completion' is strongly influenced by Michael's former live/work studio space in the Bayview District of San Francisco, an area surrounded by recycling facilities and water treatment plants. The songs reflect this industrial atmosphere, stacking treated rhythm box patterns, quivering synthesizers, and mechanical vocals. Each LP is housed in a jacket featuring photography by Melissa Joy Bernier and contains a double sided insert 11x11 with lyrics. 'Pattern Completion' develops the strain of futuristic, mutant industrial pioneered by San Francisco groups like Tuxedomoon and Factrix, with RedRedRed adding his own brand of damaged angular rhythms..

ordinary life machines

Artist : Regressverbot

Label : Fabrika Records

ordinary life machines / LP

Regressverbot emerge from the current Greek underground scene. Though they exist since 2012 they already reached a cult status among lovers of the synthesized sound and their debut LP has been long awaited. Formed in Thessaloniki in 2012 by Pantelis Theodoridis (analog synths, drum machines), Agni Zaxari (vocals) and Christos Mavridis (vocals) they released their music in the internet and soon gained a big fan base with brilliant tracks as "Homage To Miltos Sachtouris", where the voice looping of the famous Greek poet 'nails our heart'. Their sound is a new-wave, minimal-synth, post-punk collage, in which you hear the influence of the early experimental Diy music of the 80's. A brilliant lyrical album, a path of self-discovery, music to dance to under the spell of the haunting voice of Agni, the intensity of Christos and the powerful and still romantic soundscapes of Pantelis. From 2013-2015 they performed live in self-organised theaters, social centers and festivals. In this album you will find a collection of songs from the 1st period of the band, songs we all loved and danced to, but also unreleased tracks. Limited to 500 copies and including download code. Tip !!

anthology 1983-1985

Artist : Rehearsed Dreams

Label : Geheimnis Records

anthology 1983-1985 / 2x12"

This year's autumn will be very misty and gloom. Geheimnis' Records 12th release is dedicated to one of the most introspective and dark-tempered bands that the Greek dark alternative genre has ever produced. They, along with Yell-O-Yell, were probably the better well-known portrayers of the hidden, corrupted and cursed aspects of a man's soul, finding no redemption or a way-out of this perverted and confused labyrinth. No happy ending.. Rehearsed Dreams were introduced in 1983. The 3 members of the original line-up were all schoolmates from Vironas, (a district of Athens) and they originally started rehearsing and recording under the moniker The Apparently Dead. Soon they changed their name, choosing one from a magazine song lyric, and they turned it into Rehearsed Dreams. The original line-up consisted of Giannis Papaioannou on vocals, bass and synthesizers, Spiros Faros on guitars & bass and Vassilis Sorillos on drums. Occasionally other guest members such as Mary V, Tina and Elizabeth Methven were performing girl vocals to their music but the 3 boys were the main driving force of this band. In 1983 and 1984 they recorded 2 different demos. These included 9 songs and these were the main reason that Babis Dallidis welcomed Rehearsed Dreams in his label, Creep Records. At the end of the same year they started recording their 1st album 'Repulsion' with the help of Fill Scars from Yell-O-Yell and Lakis Halkiotis from Headleaders. This album was recorded and completed in 2 different night sessions, the 1st one with a borrowed Korg from Lena Platonos. 'Repulsion' was officially released by Creep Records in 1985. Later on the same year Vassilis left the band but the 2 remaining members kept on using an analog drum-machine in his place. That was, very soon, replaced by Andreas Ferdianakis, the 2nd original drummer from Yell-O-Yell and Fill Scars joined in the new line-up as well on guitars. With this new line-up Rehearsed Dreams kept playing around Athens and started recording their new material. During the winter of 1985 Rehearsed Dreams locked themselves inside the mythical Columbia Studios in Athens for 3 days & nights and started recording new material that would follow the release of their 'Repulsion' LP. All in all, they recorded 7 new tracks, together with Fill Scars and Andreas F. from Yell-O-Yell. Unfortunately, they managed to finally master only 3 of these tracks. After Fill's death, those late masters somehow traveled through Europe, and finally re-discovered somewhere in Spain. This material was depicted 2 years ago into a limited edition 7" single, named 'Trip', which quickly made a sold-out. Geheimnis' Records release is focused on the 1st very active years of the band from the beginning of their trip in 1983 since the 'Repulsion' album in 1985. 'Anthology 1983-1985' will include the very 1st demos that were presented back in 1983 to Babis Dallidis and the remastered and restored edition of 'Repulsion' in 1985, in a double black & white / minimalistic gatefold sleeve, in 350 hand-numbered copies, all in black colour. Artist : Remain In Silence

Label : Dead Wax Records

lonesome hours - the monument & seven rooms recordings / LP

In April 1985 Remain In Silence released their 1st album 'Seven Rooms' as a C-60 cassette. With only 100 made it is an undiscoverable rarity today. Hosted in a monolith-like black box it featured a 5-song studio side and a live side. In December the same year, it was their 6-song mini-album 'Monument', also a cassette only release, the one which consolidated their reputation as a cult band and widened their audience, leading Germany's alternative cassette charts at the time. Upon its release, Spex music magazine stated: "'Monument' is absolutely worth the name. RIS is how New Order should actually sound like". The studio recordings of both 'Seven Rooms' & 'Monument' have remained eclipsed by the later release of the 'This Is The Place Where Resistance Got Lost' album, but these older recordings have a darker, gloomy spirit of its own that just cannot be compared to the later sound. Dead Wax Records bring you the opportunity of reviving the haunting, melancholic yet powerful vibrations emanating from the studio sessions of 'Seven Rooms' & 'Monument'. All tracks are taken from the original reel master tapes and have been carefully remastered for optimum vinyl performance. These extraordinary recordings will be presented in two limited, hand numbered editions; here on black vinyl, housed in a heavy matt finish black/silver sleeve with printed inner sleeve and inserts, designed and adapted by David Lanna. Limited to 320 copies.

Artist : Rendez-Vous

Label : Avant!

distance / 12"

It was more than a year ago, in the grey parisian midst that we discovered the 1st ep of a group that we couldn't ignore any longer: Rendez-Vous. The band's 1st track "The Others" was heard like a traveling echo in the capital. The 4 piece band was then discovered like a secret longing to be kept, but in vain. While the expectance were heavy on the band, they kept their distance with the outside and focused on the music. So for a while they hibernated in a cave in Bastille that became the core and inspired the corrosive sound of this 2nd ep 'Distance'. The mixing was entrusted to Ben Greenberg, singer and bassist of The Men also producer of Destruction Unit, Beach Fossils and other Sacred Bones Record artists. The result is a 6-track ep that sounds closer to the vision of the band. Supported by a procession of ghosts like Fad Gadget's, Sad Lovers and Giants, the Dance Society's or Nitzer Ebb's ones, that the band resurfaces from the underground ready to shake the dead. The EP is like a heartbreaking beautiful reunion, which is mostly the case with the best rendez-vous.

love in space

Artist : Rene Riche & Her Cosmic Band

Label : Private Records

love in space / LP

African disco album from 1978. No original copies available anywhere for sale. 'Love In Space' is a soul disco tune that's smashing every 70's jam, reminding a bit of Pink Floyds "The Great Gig In The Sky" and scoring with an endless break. The great "Galactic Interlude" and the funky deep "Beyond The Sun" are an unique mix between African soul and cosmic disco beats. Obviously a totally unique sound and a one of a kind album were talended female soul singers meeting intergalactic disco beats. Extremely scarce to impossible to find original LP production by Mike Pilot who also produced the all time cosmic classic from Blush "Lift Off" during the same year (1978). Nobody less than Spanish cult producer Josep Llobell remastered the original master tapes for the new Private Records release. Including large foldout poster. Limited to 250 copies !

Recorded in 1980 and released in 1981-82 on both Plexus USA and the Netherlands, this one really deserves to be called a cult record in the field of minimal electro. Rescue 1 (aka Otto von Ruggins & Robert Crash) performed pure and weird synth stuff using our beloved Korg KR-55 drum machine. All tracks come in 2 versions (original and Charles Ball mixes) running on 2 double grooved sides... No more than a Must-Have !

Rheingold (aka Bodo Staiger (Vocals, Guitar), Brigitte Kunze (Keyboards) and Lothar Manteuffel (Lyrics), was a German new wave band that existed between 1980-1984. They recorded the 3 records "Rheingold", "R." and "Dis-Tanz". Their biggest hits were "Dreiklangsdimensionen" and "FanFanFanatisch" but this more unknown single deserves also attention. Nice minimal synth-pop ;)

never lose your shadow

Artist : Richard H. Kirk

Label : Minimal Wave

never lose your shadow / 12"

We're honored to present a 12" ep of tracks from the archives of Sheffield based electronic music legend Richard H. Kirk, entitled "Never Lose Your Shadow". Kirk 1st came to prominence in the 70's as a member of the seminal industrial band Cabaret Voltaire. His 1st release as a solo artist, Disposable Half-Truths, came out in 1980 on Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records label and since then he developed a solo career parallel to the band until its dissolution in 1994. On the ep, MW compile tracks originally recorded between 1978 and 1987, which have never before been released on vinyl. The title track, 'Never Lose Your Shadow' blurs the lines between harsh industrial, dance floor, and no wave. This is one we've been playing out for a while now and wondering why it hadn't been pressed on vinyl. The other 3 tracks are more experimental and reference ideas Kirk was exploring in Cabaret Voltaire at the time. When asked specifically about this collection, Kirk explains that 'none of the tracks were outtakes for Cabaret Voltaire, they were always solo tracks, although I think "Never Lose Your Shadow" was vey much a blueprint for the material that Cabaret Voltaire recorded for Virgin / Some Bizarre between 1983-85. The minimal sequencer / drum machine lockdown that I used later for Cabaret Voltaire was pioneered on this track. Lyrically, "Never Lose Your Shadow" was inspired by the 1971 speed freak road movie Vanishing Point, amongst other things'. The ep is limited to 999 hand-numbered copies!

Label : Eirkti

untitled / 7"

Long before the end of colored light's merciless percussions in the sky, long after the juvenilia plans for survival amid sound... Coast continues washing up vigil in storm, continues washing up alertness within a confusing warren. Taking over from the self-titled album's nervous musical compositions (2012), Οdos 55 (Road 55) resurface analogous tension yet, generating a transition from mystery to reflective elation and vice versa. 2 new tracks, 2 new points within the plane of electro-synthetic wandering that recount minimalism. 1st, "Από την άκρη της νύχτας", ("From The Edge Of The Night"), an electronic composition that slowly roams its reasoning-sowing message while stretching sounds, extending ambiences. Following, the track entitled "Ο αόρατος άνθρωπος" ("The Invisible Man"), a straightforward sample of minimalistic punk, accordingly framed in noisy maneuvers. Available in a limited edition of 700 numbered black vinyl copies.

4 new tracks from the German electro producer Roadking (aka Frank Ruekert), also known as Unn of the Mikrolux and Elektrolux fames. Once again he turns the steam way up for these fat electro tracks written especially for Satamile. Clean snapping breaks with lots of cool edits, breakdowns, vocoder and pumping bass that will keep the listeners and Dj's entertained for a long time !

I'm normal

Artist : Robert Derby

Label : Cachalot Records

I'm normal / LP

This early one-man album demonstrates what could be done in the pre-tech days by a crafty auteur with 2 tape decks, a basement and a lot of patience. Far worse-sounding albums have been recorded by rooms full of session pros in 32-track studios. If you dig LMNOP's catchy pop, then you'll enjoy Derby's light rock-pop which benefits from skillful arrangements and his multi instrumental prowess; underdeveloped material and a samey blandness are the record's shortcomings. Great album ;-D

faceless future

Artist : Roberto Auser

Label : Enfant Terrible

faceless future / LP

Roberto Auser is known for his wide range of sounds and releases on Viewlexx and his own Ausland label. Next to that he is part of Kaval (Vrystaete). Even though his releases until now go from italo-disco inspired electro to exotica and dark jazz influenced electronics his production is always rather smooth. For Enfant Terrible he shows his raw and dirty side. 'Faceless Future' is an oldschool minimal elektro record done with analogue synths with a real industrial and post-punk attitude. This record pays tribute to (early) Cabaret Voltaire, (early) Front 242 and (later-day) Le Syndicat Electronique. Simply minimal electronics as it should sound.. Rough and unpolished. Mini LP limited to 250 copies !

Very obscure house track of Rodney Bakerr (aka Mystic) released almost 20 years ago with a macho classic house bassline and amazing 303. Comes as original version (very raw and intense), Mike Dunn Mix (with that amazing 303 bassline!) and a new edit made for modern club use by Serge from Clone Records & Alden Tyrell. Very much recommended..!

jumpin 2 conclusions ep

Artist : Roko Dragonbreath

Label : Black Label

jumpin 2 conclusions ep / 12"

A one man show doing electro that sounds very reminiscent of Comtron and Japanese Telecom. The title track on the other hand is something of a crossover between New Kids On The Block and Drexciya. And we mean that in a good way ! "Jumpin 2 Conclusions" is simply amazing, we love it. If you like the Seymour Bits 12" on Klakson then you definately need this too. Highly Recommended !

anthems for the micro-age

Artist : Roladex

Label : Medical Records LLC

anthems for the micro-age / LP

2nd contemporary artist release with Roladex. Imagine Kraftwerk playing Steven Merritt songs. Roladex was formed in Texas by Tyler Jacobsen & Elyssa Dianne. Producer/member, Tyler Jacobsen holds an MFA in Electronic Art and this becomes apparent as they find lyrical and musical inspiration through the films of David Cronenberg and John Carpenter, the works of authors such as J.G Ballard as well as video artists such as Vito Acconci and Nam June Paik. Jacobsen has been on a hiatus from his work as college art professor since the formation of the group. Using an arsenal of analog instruments, Roladex nostalgically borrows ideas from music of the past to carefully craft a unique brand of futuristic-mechanized pop, with an emphasis on songwriting and layered production. Weaving sparse, sequenced arpeggios into fuzzy bass and bubbly melodies to create a bed of sound where they layout a somehow bright melancholia. Part minimal synth-wave, part dream pop, Roladex fits nicely with other non-traditional pop acts such as Ariel Pink as well as Synth contemporaries like Police Des Moeurs and Black Marble. At times their music cold and moody, at others it is bright and dimly warm. Themes such as nuclear war, cosmology, false memories and technology become apparent as the listener plays through the LP. Fans of early Wire (esp 154), Drinking Electricity, Fad Gadget and even noisy 90's shoegaze are sure to enjoy. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight electric blue transparent vinyl and features a bonus LP insert with lyrics. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Limited edition.

tear garden

Artist : Rossetti's Compass

Label : No Emb Blanc

tear garden / 12"

Rossetti's Compass is a dark electronic project originally created by Mark Warner, a former member of Sudeten Creche and Touching The Void and joined by Per Aksel Lundgreen. Mark Warner is a former member of Sudeten Creche and a current member of Touching the Void with Andy Oppenheimer. He created Rossetti's Compass in 2010 to allow exploration of different directions in music ranging for pure synth-pop through to dark and menacing electro. As the name, Rossetti's Compass, suggests, it both encompasses and points to a direction. A direction dictated by one's heart that doesn't need to conventionally conform to the standards dictated by the 'Art' establishment and one driven by passion, like the pre-raphaelite brotherhood founded in 1848.

the temple of the 13th tribe

Artist : Royal Family and The Poor

Label : Mannequin

the temple of the 13th tribe / LP

The Royal Family & The Poor is the nomenclature adopted by Mike Keane, who recorded for Factory Records between 1980 and 1986. 'The Project Phase 1 - The Temple Of The 13th Tribe', released in 1984 was produced in Manchester by Joy Divison and New Order bassist Peter Hook. Featuring the violinist John Neesham (of Walking Seeds and Mel-o-Tones) and the keyboard player Lita Hira from labelmates Stockholm Monsters, the album was done only after plenty of ups and downs in Keane's own life as well as numerous personnel shifts and incarnations, but the end results were a sometimes delicate and often enthralling combination. The combination of TR 808 and other drums, reverbed vocals, and aural mystery is all permeated by Keane's interest in the occult, while Hook's technological know-how adds a sharp rhythmic punch to tracks such as "Dark And Light", "Radio Egypt" and "Discipline". Other tracks include one of Mike Keane's best known songs, the affecting ballad "I Love You (Restrained In A Moment)", and the sinister, vocodered "Motherland". Perhaps the most misunderstood band to record for Factory Records, The Royal Family and The Poor remain for many an (oc)cult enigma, releasing only 4 albums in 2 decades, and rarely performing live after 1984. A lost classic, highly recommended for fans of Joy Division, New Order, Section 25, Durutti Column, Death In June. 1st vinyl reissue for the 30th year anniversary. Collectible limited edition of 500 copies.

This the night when fear and death walk hand in hand! Rude 66 has turned to the path of evil with deep malignant industrial electro. Trademark dirty brown melodies and the vocoded chants of the Chicagoan Angel of Despair make these hypnotic tracks instantly recognizable, and a worthy addition to the Rude 66 legacy. sadistic tendencies

Artist : Rude 66

Label : Creme Organization

sadistic tendencies / 2x12"

After a wait of 15 years and numerous 12", ep's, random compilation tracks and remixes; Rude 66 has finally finished a full length album and dare we say it's his most cohesive work to date ? "Sadistic Tendencies" begins where 2005's "Three Faces of Fear ep" ended, with 18 tracks that slide like snails on the edge of straight razors, exploring the dark side of the human condition. Thematically connected, deep, dark and mind bendingly analogue, "Sadistic Tendencies" is both tense and full of release, sometimes brooding and encroaching at other times exploding into throbbing synth laden dancefloor bombs. Superlatives aside, "Sadistic Tendencies" works exceptionally well as an album and is one of those rare 70 minute journey's that can be enjoyed from beginning to end. Massive..

Probably one of the stronger releases on the Vynalogica label..!

under cover of the night

Artist : Rude 66

under cover of the night / 12"

Rude 66 does not need an introduction... This Dutch acid and elektro veteran has been around for a long time. Being part of the old school acid scene from The Hague with releases on legendary label Acid Planet and he is one of the originals (again) when it comes to the new-wave of electro in the late 90's. Especially for Gooiland Elektro he has created this dark elektro ep. 2 vocals tracks on the A-side with Beta Evers and Sololust appearing as partners in crime, and on the B-side 2 instrumental almost trance like tracks. This is were elektro, acid (beat) and a touch of old school gothic come together!

the art dance

Artist : Ruins

Label : Minimal Wave

the art dance / LP

Full length Lp by Ruins, an Italian electro-wave duo. Ruins formed in Mestre in 1978 with the intention of experimenting with electronic devices and mixed media. They mainly created music out of self-expression without any intention of joining the mainstream. They were interested in multimedia and had a strong visual aesthetic apparent via their album art, videos and projections. The classic hit "Fire" is one of our favorites to date, so powerful with its great energy and beautiful production. It’s where italo meets minimal-wave. This Lp entitled "The Art Dance" features a collection of songs, some previously released, others never released before (amongst them a dub version of "Sexual Desire" called "Pure Desire"), pressed on 180gram vinyl and housed in a glossy gatefold jacket lined with the band's history and photos. Essential..!

New release from the parisian label Poutre Apparente by the french producer Ruth. This 7" contains two tracks, the very rare "Mescalito" wich was initially released on the legendary French punk compilation "125 grammes de 33 1/3 tours" (Oxygčne) and the unreleased "Mon pote". More punk-rock oriented than "Polaroid/Roman/Photo" but still great. Rock n' Roll baby !

Artist : Ruth

Label : Angular Recording Corporation

polaroďd/roman/photo / LP

Originally released on Paris Records in 1985 Ruth's Lp sold just 50 copies and was relegated to obscurity until the track "Polaroďd/Roman/Photo" started appearing on bootlegs and compilations in the early 00's, slowly becoming the cult synth-pop classic it is nowadays. An original copy goes for upwards of €300 on eBay and Ruth are a shining light from an oft forgotten music scene that is becoming increasingly influential today. Ruth was the brainchild of Thierry Müller, a photographer and graphic artist from Paris who drew his inspiration from bands and artists like Brian Eno, Stockhausen, Pere Ubu, Neu, Velvet Underground and Kraftwerk. In the late 70's he began to work on Ruth, releasing the lone album Polaroďd/Roman/Photo in 1985. The line up of Ruth was collaborative and fluid, brass mingles with prototype drum machines, and squalling experimentation sits alongside sultry French girls across 40 minutes of edgy pop innovation that sounds remarkably undated alongside contemporary pop music. From the jittery "Thriller" with its telephone sound samples and an ever ascending synth, to the lanquid "Mabelle", the cover of Can's "She Brings The Rain", and the sexy soiree of playful vocals and alluring brass that is "Polaroďd/Roman/Photo", this is an album that is now ready to be represented for the attention is deserves. This 25th anniversary deluxe special edition reissue comes in a gatefold sleeve on transparent scarlet vinyl, and features a 12 page booklet of lyrics and photos and download codes for a digital version of the album which includes six bonus tracks. Artist : Rutherford

singularis / 12"

For its 6th outing, the UK label has managed to coax a release from Rutherford, aka Swedish producer Ronnie Johansson, who had a track on 'Guests Of Reality', a split release issued by Brokntoys late last year. Although he has been putting out records since the late 90's, 'Singularis' is one of the 1st occasions that he has not released on Stilleben, the label run by Luke Eargoggle. Its loss is Brokntoys' gain and Johansson delivers a series of underground cuts that reinforce the fact that while trends and hype are transient, electro has a sense of permanence. At times, the approach on 'Singularis' is stripped back in extreme; "Spoken Word" revolves around robotic drums, a churning bass, coruscating stabs and little else. In other instances, Rutherford mines a far richer and deeper sound. Both "Learn Leave" and "Ringer" have the churning bass and the kind of mysterious synth melodies that are audibly influenced by Drexciya. However, neither are cheap knock-offs and "Learn Leave" in particular sees Johansson work a vocal that moans and growls into the track's fabric. The title track also provides an indication that electro producers aren't content to remain in a narrowly defined bracket. Staying away from the dancefloor, its synths have an icy, detached feeling, like the early 90's ambience of Autechre or The Black Dog, but against this backdrop, Johansson works in what could be a vocal sample. Its ghostly presence shimmies through the austere soundscape, lending a human touch to the track's robotic form. 'Singularis' doesn't offer a manifesto for radical change or creative upheaval, but it does show that this 40-year-old sound won't be suffering a mid-life crisis anytime soon..

30th anniversary: 1980-1983

Artist : S.M. Nurse

Label : Domestica

30th anniversary: 1980-1983 / 10"

Around 1980 Menko Konings started the legendary Amsterdam underground formation S.M. Nurse, 1st together with Jos Jak and later also with Anneke Stempher. S.M. Nurse experimented with collage-like music and were inspired by N.Y.-ultra, disco e.g. The band mainly performed in the Amsterdam ultra-circuit, such as Oktopus on the Keizersgracht and D-Day in Paradiso. They also performed at clubs and discotheques such as Mazzo on the Rozengracht and the transgender nightclub Madame Arthur in the Warmoesstraat. Pretty soon, S.M. Nurse was noticed by radio programme maker Richard Zeilstra from the Dutch broadcaster the VPRO and they were played regularly on radio programmes such as RadioNome and Spleen. They performed live on radio in the villa of the VPRO in Hilversum. They also contributed to the theme cassette 'Turkish Delight' of Van Kaye & Ignit's tapes and record label Ding Dong. Among releases were a live registration on a bootleg cassette, at the time available at Staalplaat, and a cassette of S.M. Nurse on the independent label Top Tape. At the end of 1983, S.M. Nurse split up. Anneke Stempher and Jos Jak recorded a cassette for TopTape under the name Incredible Coop. Menko Konings continued solo under the name eM. He also started the formation No Honey From These with Robby Horsfall. Top Tape released several cassettes and cd's from eM. as well as No Honey From These. Presented in a hand-made silk-screen printed cover sleeve. It includes a leaflet. Limited edition of 350 numbered copies only.

hometape recordings 1981-1983 / LP

S.M. Nurse with Menko Konings (active as eM. and co-founder of S.M. Nurse) wouldn't leave our audience indifferent, but it's so difficult to guess how far a group can reach, 30 years after their splitting up, taking into account that about 2 years ago very few people knew them. This is precisely the kind of projects which fulfill us; we are looking forward to them! And this is one of the reasons why Domestica Records was born 4 years ago. Here is their 2nd collaboration with S.M. Nurse; 'Hometape Recordings 1981-1983', a compilation of the best songs recorded in the studio between 1981 & 1983, and never before edited in vinyl format and a short biography by S.M. Nurse: Around 1980 Menko Konings (eM.) started the Dutch underground formation S.M. Nurse, first together with Jos Jak and later also with Anneke Stempher. S.M. Nurse experimented with collage-like music and were inspired by N.Y.-ultra, disco e.g. The band mainly performed in the Amsterdam ultra-circuit (Oktopus, Paradiso), clubs and discotheques. They were played regularly on the famous radio programmes RadioNome and Spleen and performed live on radio in the villa of the VPRO in Hilversum. They also contributed to the theme cassette Turkish Delight of the label Ding Dong and there was a cassette release on the label Top Tape. At the end of 1983, S.M. Nurse split up. The songs of S.M. Nurse are composed and performed by Anneke Stempher, Jos Jak and Menko Konings. Edition of 500 copies with insert ;)

real italian occult terrorism / LP

Reno. 2017. Steeples stab silhouettes into a blood stained night sky. Alessandro Parisi and Adamennon don their ceremonial cloaks for a mini album of Appennino's forests tinted terror. 8 tracks make up 'Real Italian Occult Terrorism', 8 tracks that will bring you to a world of disappearances, ritualistic murders and only one possible culprit: Sacrestia Del Santissimo Sangue. From sheathed divinity to opulent baseness, this LP is a deep and chilling work of movie score dark arts.

Recorded at Baby Studios (Milan) in 1984. Nice efficient italo-disco track from Kano, considered as the starter of italo-disco by many and then also served as a bridge to electro and breakdance later in the 80's, together here with the Italian singer Sahara... A bit cheezy but authentic sound ;)

untitled / 7"

Sally Dige is a new artist based in Vancouver, Canada. Her 1st track, "Immaculate Deception" was released on YouTube at the end of September 2011, and received worldwide enthusiasm and recognition. Her inspiration for this project was to couple both the abstract with the linear; to take abstract sounds and atmospheric noise and draw them into a linear pop song. "Immaculate Deception" and "Doppelgänger" are the 1st tracks to be released to the public. Fabrika Records will be releasing the tracks on a limited run of 300 vinyl copies. The 1st one, from the new Fabrika single series!

hard to please

Artist : Sally Dige

Label : Night School

hard to please / LP

Consolidating 2 years of solo work, 'Hard To Please' is the debut album by Canadian polymath Sally Dige. 1st coming to prominence in the synth-wave scene with an elusive, meta-persona in a blur of homemade costumes, Dige's world has grown to encompass visual art, theatre and design elements. Most surprising on her long-awaited debut however is the occasional removal of the various masks and characters Dige has played to date, revealing something more tangible and fragile underneath.'Hard To Please' still revels in a darkly thrilling, italo-disco pop music, awash with dry ice and hidden in shadow, most personified on the instant classic "Immaculate Deception". However, on the long, nocturnal walk home Dige begins to sing of loneliness, being lost, the transience of our relationships. Attention to detail is paramount. On the title-track the crisp early 80's, swooning bass line duets with Dige's desperate plea to a lover fading into the distance, a presence lamented with even more pathos on the towering, early-4AD-esque, slow-burner "Your Girl". It's a new fragility that effortlessly manages to convey a luxurious, inescapable sensuality at the same time. Clear vinyl limited to 300 copies. Including download code.

holding on

Artist : Sally Dige

Label : Avant!

holding on / LP

Sally Dige is a multidisciplinary artist known for her darkly poetic yet highly danceable electro-pop songs, DiY stylistic videos, design and visual art. 'Holding On' is Sally's 2nd album that was created during the time of intense inner turmoil. These are songs written for dancefloors but are sung about loneliness, death and the meaninglessness of existence. Sally's work tows the line between a blissful innocence and a heavy darkness. Think Gina X flavored post punk-disco rubbing against Twitch-era Ministry's lost Sade collab or Enya on LSD after a break up. LP comes in printed innersleeve with lyrics.

Artist : Sam Rosenthal

Label : Mannequin

tanzmusik / LP

Reissue of one of the top minimal synth Holy Grails out of there. 'Tanzmusik' is the 1st LP from Sam Rosenthal, boss of the historic Projekt Records label and mind of one of the most influential darkwave acts coming out of the US, Black Tape For A Blue Girl. Originally released in March 1985 and completely recorded at home on a 4-track TEAC-2340 with a super minimal setup (Korg Poly 61, Realistic Moog, Boss Dr-110 and some effects), the vinyl release was limited to 250 copies, with a tanish card glued to a white LP jacket. The album continues in the electronic mood-music tradition established by Sam on the Projekt Electronic Amerika cassettes, with the added intriques of the drum-computer, exploring the realms of electronic music that the critics have compared to Tangerine Dream, O.M.D. and Brian Eno. Black Tape for a Blue Girl, begin in 1986 after his move from Florida to California, serves as a vehicle for Rosenthal's musical vision. Its signature combination of gothic, ethereal, ambient and neo-classical elements has explored existential themes of loves lost and passions yet to come. After his early electronic work represented on 'Tanzmusik', his music has grown into a full-fledged band, whose members revolve around Rosenthal's subtle electronic foundation. In 1996, Rosenthal released his debut novel, 'The First Pain To Linger', which sold 10,000 self-released copies. In 2011, Rosenthal began work on his 2nd book, 'Rye', an erotic novel which will be self-published in the fall of 2012. Standard vinyl release limited to 500 copies..
