untitled / LP

Another superb reissue from Seattle's Medical Records, plucking Dorothea Raukes' 1981 album "Deutsche Wertarbeit" from krautrock obscurity and resissuing it on red vinyl in a limited run of 500 copies. Dorothea was in a tiny minority of German frauleins to work in krautrock circles, 1st with her Düsseldorf band Streetmark (she recorded 4 albums as their lead singerin between '76-'81) and later as a solo artist for Sky Records. She's responsible for all all the sounds on "Deutsche Wertarbeit", finding an endearing blend of sensibilities, from the rhythm driven pop of the NDW to the spacey textures and ambience of Klaus Schulze. Her canny melodic character shines through cheeseball keys of "Guten Abend, Leute", but doesn't shy away from darker tones like with "Unter Tage". Best of all is he proto-tranz glide of "Auf Engelsflügeln", which is pretty much worth the cost of entry alone, while the electric grey drama of "Intercity Rheingold" and "Der Gross Atem" seal the deal. Really feeling this..! REPRESS edition..

hibernation / LP

'Hibernation' is the spectacular follow-up to the 'Chinese Restaurant' lp. It was recorded in 1978 and originally released in 1979 on Polydor. This record has not been available on vinyl for over 30 years and tends to fetch rather high prices on the collector's market. The songs are restrained, yet explorative and passionate. The opening track "Calling" takes the listener down a quirky new-wave path riddled with angular guitars and random bits of analog beeps. The stand out track is certainly "Gott Gott Electron" which is an intoxicating dancefloor slow cosmic jam which will leave a permanent involuntary imprint to the lucky who hear it. As a whole, the record is reflective of the passion between Maurizio and Christina and is a new-wave masterpiece on many levels. "Aurora B" and "Lover" further display the intense emotional interplay. This high quality 180gm black vinyl reissue was licensed directly from the artist. Hand-numbered limited 2nd edition of 500 copies. Essential..

chinese restaurant / LP

A seminal album by Italian new-wave duo Chrisma, the absolutely essential 'Chinese Restaurant' lp has not been available on vinyl format in over 30 years. Chrisma is husband and wife team Maurizio Arcieri and Christina Moser. The record was 1st recorded in 1977 and originally released that same year on Polydor. It was produced, arranged, and contains musical contributions by Niko Papathanassiou (brother of the famous Vangelis). 'Chinese Restaurant' is a very unique record blending the best elements of synth-punk, Neu!-esque prog jams, and new-wave into a hybrid of sheer perfection. From the post-punk energy of the single, "Black Silk Stocking" to the jagged hooks of "What For" and the analog warbling synths of "Mandoia", this futuristic slab of wax is a classic. This high-quality 180gm black vinyl reissue was licensed directly from the artists. Hand-numbered limited 2nd edition of 500 copies. Really nice ;)

normalette surprise / LP

'Normalette Surprise' is the equally important and ground-breaking follow-up album to 'Geri Reig' and was released in 1981. Here Der Plan further evolved their unique style of Neue Deutsche Welle into an ever-so-slightly more accessible record yet not abandoning their roots as evidenced by hints of experimental sound textures and their characteristic quirky yet undefinable sound collages and pre-industrial notions. 'Normalette Surprise' will appeal to devoted followers of this unique genre and fans of contemporary artists (DAF, Saal, Liaison Dangereuses, etc). This album is an essential document for any fan or collector of the fascinating NDW period. Lovingly presented on 180g. transparent blue vinyl in a limited edition of 550 hand-numbered copies. geri reig / LP

Debut full length album originally released in 1980 on Der Plan’s own Warning (later known as Ata Tak) label. Der Plan is widely acknowledged as the pioneers of the NDW (New German Wave) movement which was the transformation of punk rock and new wave into an entity of distinct form and style. The movement spawned other notable acts as Grauzone, Deutsch Amerikanische Freundschaft, and X-Mal Deutschland. Der Plan originated from Düsseldorf and consisted of Moritz Reichelt, Frank Fenstermacher & Kurt Dahlke (aka Pyrolator) on this recording. 'Geri Reig' is a very diverse album consisting of tracks reminiscent of the early Der Plan avant-garde period contrasted with more musical and catchy songs geared more towards minimal synthetic pop and experimental minimal-synth. This masterpiece is presented on 180g. olive green colored vinyl in a limited edition of 550 hand-numbered copies. Beautiful ;)

novels for the moons / LP

Reissue of the essential 'Novels For The Moons' by Axxess. Originally released in 1983, Axxess is the brainchild of French multimedia artist Patrick Mimran. Heavily influenced by German electronic pioneers Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, and Kraftwerk, Mr. Mimran commissioned the German engineer Andreas Bahrdt to build a custom complex synthesizer which eventually materialized into a 16 voice analog synthesizer of genius proportions. Andreas had previously designed a less elaborate prototype for Peter Baumann of Tangerine Dream fame. What then came to life as the product of Patrick's imagination and this unique machine is a spectacular array of 15 sequenced instrumentals. The opener "When The Lips Fly High" sets the stage for the labyrinthine polyrhythms that will enchant and enrapture the listener for the duration of the album. While most tracks have an upbeat driving vibe, others have a synth-heavy low-key subdued aspect as well. The album has been described in some circles as having cosmic qualities. Occasional resemblances to 70's horror synth soundtracks could also be appreciated but with a more intricate song structure of layered intertwining sequenced patterns (such as in the track "Dancing Shadows"). This long out of print beautiful artifact features original reproduction sleeve art featuring the mysterious and eye-dazzling original painting that donned the original Lp. Included is a 2-sided insert featuring an interview and profile of Axxess by Dave Segal and color photos of the infamous 'Le Bart' synth used to create this masterpiece. High-quality 180gr. yellow vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies.

Guyer's Connection were a Swiss duo that started making electronic music in 1982. Tibor Csebits and Philippe Alioth were merely 14 and 15 years old and were armed with simply 2 synths, a drum machine, and a 4-track tape recorder. They are best known for their highly-sought after self-produced and released album "Portrait" in 1983. It is now considered a classic minimal synth pop masterpiece. Several other members joined the band in 1984 and worked together for some time. Philippe Alioth has been very active in the music business writing, producing, and running a Swiss studio as well as running a Swiss label (Sonic Content). This extraordinary collection of tracks was discovered in a dark recess of Philippe's achives of 4-track tapes in his studio. The tapes were recorded from 1982 to 1984 but were rediscovered in 2005. A portion of the songs were restored, remixed and remastered. Medical Records in collaboration with Philippe Alioth is proud to present another presentation of these glorious tracks. Featuring 13 tracks (including several never before released and a few reworked versions of tracks released in 2005), this will appeal to all lovers of minimal-synth, electro-pop, flexi-pop, and the like. Standout tracks include the vocoder tinged "Discoqueen II", the hyper-catchy "Är Isch Schön", and a slightly modified version of "He Sabine!". New tracks include an interpretation of a German children's song and "Macky Messer" featuring words by Kurt Weill. The LP features newly created front and back artwork. Presented on 180gm green vinyl in a limited edition of 600 hand-numbered copies. Must-Have !!

Artist : OGI

Label : Medical Records LLC

untitled / LP

Originally released in 1980 on EMI France, the OGI Lp is the work of Hungarian-born Peter Ogi. He obtained formal education in music composition at the Budapest Music Academy and quickly thereafter formed the very early Hungarian punk outfit, the Spions. Though never documented on tape, the Spions were considered very important in the Hungarian music scene. In the late 70's, Peter began travelling back and forth between Paris and London where he worked together with legendary producer of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren. Their collaboration was integral to the creation of the OGI Lp. It was recorded in Autumn 1980. The album was composed by Peter Ogi with lyrics written by Malcolm McLaren on over half of the tracks. Unfortunately, the record was criminally overlooked most likely due to it's French-only release. It is now being reintroduced for the 1st time in over 30 years. The Lp is a phenomenal creation of synthesized pop. The album's opener "King Kong's Fear" creates the mood with minimal synth leanings and unusual hooks that set the stage for an adventurous slide down the synthesized rabbit-hole. The 2nd cut "Resist Dance" was also a 7" single and is a standout track of infectious catchiness. "She, Wolf, Woof!" is a very interesting and dramatic piece that is obviously different from contemporary synth-pop from the era. The namesake track, "O.G.I." is a tempo-shifting cabaret-style ditty that warns you 'The OGI is watching you!'. This record is a totally original bombastic work of synth-pop art created by a uniquely talented artist. Since this record, Peter Ogi has been active in a wide spectrum of styles and genres, but the OGI Lp remains his sole opus of synth art-punk. For fans and devotees of early Fad Gadget, Daniel Miller, Malcolm McLaren sole efforts, and new-wave of the minimal varieties. Presented on high-quality 180gm magenta vinyl in a hand-numbered limited edition of 650 copies. Huge !!

no visible means / LP

Originally self-released in 1984 on Pterodactyl Records, 'No Visible Means' is the work of Canada's own Lou Champagne. Lou Champagne was active the Ontario music scene and also performed with other local musicians from that region as well. The Lou Champagne System was the real-time guitar synth solo act of Lou Champagne. Due to his knowledge of electronics, he was able to link his guitar, synth, and synthetic drums into a working one-man solo act that was playable with floor switches and pedals. The overall effect was the sound of a full band. 'No Visible Means' was recorded in 1981-82 and mixed in 1983. It consists of 9 works of unrelenting sonic bliss. The music can be described as synth-heavy, textural punk with a very diverse palette of styles drizzled in for a truly unique listening experience. "Don't Say I'm Here" opens the album with a bang showcasing Lo'’s angular guitar effects and emotionally powered vocals. "Propaganda Frustration" is a thick, modulated affair with overtones of minimal disco and motorik motifs that commands attention on the dark dancefloor. "Machine Muzik" is a standout track with effects-laden jagged guitar hooks drenched in a haze of electronics. From beginning to end, 'No Visible Means' is a synth-punk masterpiece and will surely appeal to connoisseurs of the darker, synth-based outer limits of post-punk and jagged guitar-heavy new-wave. Available in the past only in limited quantities from Mr Champagne himself, 'No Visible Means' has been long out of print. This official reissue includes original 'nuclear circuit map' as an additional insert (with lyrics on flipside of insert). Presented on high quality 180gr. white vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. HUGE !!

compass kum'pas / LP+7"

Originally released in 1980, 'Compass Kum'Pas' was the debut album by the Liverpool duo consisting of Alan Gill and Dave Hughes. The early incarnations of the band featured David Balfe (later in The Teardrop Explodes) and Andy McCluskey (later to form O.M.D.). Alan Gill also was a member of The Teardrop Explodes at one point down the line. The LP was critically acclaimed but unfortunately flew under the radar in terms of revenue generation. Medical Records presents this seminal work on vinyl for the 1st time in over 30 years. The album can best be described as a pastiche of passionate synth-pop and highly restrained post-punk. At times very danceable pop is sharply contrasted with moody synth and vocal passages shrouded in a thick cloud of melancholy. The track "Destiny (Dalek I Love You)" is a highly catchy synth hit and was a 7" single at the time. "8 Track" tells the peculiar tale of the love affair with a piece of recording equipment. "Freedom Fighters" grabs you with sharp synth hooks and drags you to the dancefloor. The cover version of "You Really Got Me" is a very stripped down and restrained interpretation with angular chopped guitar. The LP is a synergistic cross between the stylings of early O.M.D. synth-pop, minimalist post-punk guitar, and a likeness to the piecemeal song structure of Van Dyke Parks. LP includes a bonus insert with early photos and a special written piece on the band. As an extra to the LP, a bonus flexi-disc is included that includes the B-sides "Happy" and "This Is My Uniform". Presented with much love on high-quality 180gram hot pink vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. For fans of early analog synth-pop ;)

Artist : Gay Cat Park

synthetic woman / LP

Previously unreleased songs by an icon of italo-disco & synth-pop. Gay Cat Park is an Italian duo consisting of Graziano G. Ravizza & Davide Gatti. At the tender age of 14 with an obsession for electronics and a dream, they crafted the hit 'I'm A Vocoder'. Using very primitive toy-like keyboards modified to makeshift synthesizers early on, this masterpiece and floor-stomper was a success. Though they recorded many other records in the studio with other artists under a variety of different names in the more popular vein, there were sadly no further releases in the style of Gay Cat Park or under that moniker. Their tracks were home-recorded and not considered 'commercial' enough in those times. Influenced heavily by Kraftwerk, Tomita, and Depeche Mode, their tracks were astonishing and are presented now on this compilation of hand-picked tracks from that era. Overall, the LP has a very lovely Diy warm aesthetic. Limited edition of 650 hand-numbered copies and including a special insert with liner notes by Dave Segal. Essential !!!

overload+singles / 2x12"

1st in a series of unparalleled reissues originating from the crucial Survival Records imprint. Survival Records is a UK label now operating for over 30 years. Formed in 1981 by Anne-Marie Heighway and David Rome, early releases included such iconic releases as Tik & Tok, Play, Hard Corps, and Richard Bone. For the 1st release in this series, Medical Records has fittingly chosen to present the work of Drinking Electricity which is the project of label curators Anne-Marie and David. David Rome previously had worked with Martin Lloyd in the Analysis (later to be evolved into Oppenheimer Analysis). Drinking Electricity formed in 1980 and released 2 singles on Pop Aural before forming Survival which housed the rest of their output during their 2 years as a band. This double LP collection showcases Drinking Electricity's full LP 'Overload' as well as compiling the band's multiple singles. The 1st LP 'Overload' was released in 1982 and has been long out of print since its original pressing. The 2nd LP contains the singles released during the 1980-1982 period. The work of Drinking Electricity can best be described as a perfect fusion of minimal synth-based new-wave with poignant, angular and stylized guitar-driven post-punk. Touching on sociopolitical topics intertwined into catchy, synth-heavy tracks that are also danceable, this collection will appeal to fans of early Gang Of Four, OMD, Fad Gadget, and the like. This is the 1st time these tracks have been compiled into one collection, presented in a double gatefold jacket with custom Drinking Electricity inspired artwork on high-quality double 180gr. transparent colored vinyl in a limited edition of 650 hand-numbered copies. Artist : Disco Volante

Label : Medical Records LLC

no motion / 7"

For the 1st 7" record released by Medical Records, here is the reissue of the long lost & out of print 7" by Disco Volante. Disco Volante was essentially Terry Clarke (aka Terry Tanx) formed in London in 1982. Inspired by the early Bond films and their soundtracks (Disco Volante was a yacht in Thunderball), Tanx played live in a number or small clubs between 1982-1986. Using a small number of Roland instruments (TB 303, TR 606, MC-202, and SH-09), Disco Volante self released a cassette entitled 'Traction In Rehash' now which is sadly lost. In 1984, the 7" single "No Motion" with the same title as A side and "Click" and "Punishment Tank (Live)" as the B side on Catalyst Box Records. Terry recollects that the recording only took 2 days, and the engineer had no experience with this style of music. The end result has a very Diy aesthetic despite the use of a professional studio. Unfortunately, the single was not commercially popular and received no publicity due to music press strike at the time. The single began to gain cult underground popularity in the 90's and 00's with the resurgence of new-wave which resulted in a spike in prices for the long lost single. The track "No Motion" is a very catchy layered synth-pop hit that is quite unique yet capturing the essence of the early 80's new-wave sound very nicely. "Click" on the B-side is a march-like track with propulsive synthetic bass textures and monotonous analog drum beats. The final track "Punishment Tank Live!" is a track recorded live at the Red Box, London with a punk feel with intense delayed vocals, guitar and overlayed synth hooks. Beyond out of print and sure to appeal to lovers of the Diy coldwave and synth 7" revival and resurrection. Presented on high-quality black 7" vinyl in a limited edition of 500 hand-numbered copies. Artist : Christof Glowalla

Label : Medical Records LLC

erde 80 / 10"

In 1979, armed with a Korg MS-10 synthesiser and a very simple rhythm box, Christof Glowalla began experimenting with a tape recorder and a few Diy sound generators. Influenced by outfits such as Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, and Fad Gadget, Glowalla eventually put his creation to tape at the West Berlin 'Musiclab' which was a small 8-track studio in the Kreuzberg district. What resulted in 1980 was the self-released now excruciatingly rare "Erde 80" 7" single. Glowalla also collaborated in a band called Exobit in 1981 with Ingolf Kurkowski and Frank Landgraf, but it was a brief existence. Also in 1981, Glowalla recorded 3 more tracks with Kurkowski which were presented to various record labels, but they unfortunately were never released at the time. Though relatively obscure in the early 80's, the 'Erde 80' 7" release slowly became an underground hit with collectors with subsequently rising prices that continue to rise today. Medical Records is proud to compile for the 1st time the 2 tracks from 'Erde 80' + the 3 tracks recorded in 1981. The tracks are culled from the carefully digitized now lost master tapes. The 1st track, "Erde 80" needs no introduction. Dense analog synth envelopes you in a blanket of warmth accented with processed German vocals. This track has also appeared on the 'New Deutsch' in 2003. The B-side of the original 7" ("Technik") is a dark, brooding synth piece with acoustic guitar passages. Included as well are the above mentioned 3 tracks recorded in 1981. The only one officially released was "Science Fiction" (released by Genetic Music in 2001 on a split 7" with Bakterielle Infektion). It is a an upbeat ditty with sharp hooks and flanged vocals with snappy synth overtones and filter sweeps. "Smog In Der Stadt" is a catchy synth-punk styled number with various shifts. The final track "Der Böse" is a very interesting track with wafting peaceful guitar overlying analog synth with an almost dark-folk texture. For lovers of cold, synth-heavy pop with a darker feel. This collection is released on high-quality 10" opaque mustard colored vinyl in a limited edition of 600 hand-numbered copies. Not to be missed !!

iceman / LP

Reissue of the very rare and sought after 1979 opus by Italy's I Signori Della Galassia. 'Iceman' has been long out of print for over 30 years fetching very high prices on the collector's market. I Signori Della Galassia (translated as The Men Of Galaxy) is best described as a sonic hybrid of space disco/cosmic meets Italian progressive pop/rock. They were founded in Savona in the late 70's. Played with analog gear such as a variety of synthesizers as well as traditional guitar and drums. It is a very rich and diverse LP with multiple interesting twists and turns. The opener "Proxima Centauri" is a space disco odyssey with super-catchy synth melodies over driving disco beats mixed with hypnotic passages. The title track "Iceman" is a fusion of Italian pop and space disco which makes for an interesting combination. Other tracks have a completely different feel with elements of prog and experimental rock overtones. "Archeopterix" is another standout track with washing synths, warbling filters, and gentle backing vocals. The LP contains 2 bonus tracks (at the end of each side) which were released as singles at the time ("Luce" and "Eliane"). The LP features preserved front cover artwork and slightly modified back cover original artwork (at the artist's request). This LP will surely appeal to lovers of Space, Rockets, Kraftwerk, Milkways, and Zodiac. Presented on 180gr silver opaque high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 650 copies. Be Fast ;)

Wunderbar reissue of Berlin's Die Gesunden. Die Gesunden (translated to the Healthy Ones) was mostly the duo of Mabel Aschenneller & Eschi Rehm (who sadly passed away in 2008). They were also joined on drums by Thomas Wydler (who later became known for his membership in Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds). Taking influences from Kraftwerk, Roxy Music, and ENO/Bowie, Die Gesunden was one of the 1st Neue Deutsche Welle outfits. The self-titled LP was released in 1982 on Innovative Communication which was the independent record label formed by Klaus Schulze in 1978 after Klaus became very interested in the earliest Berlin NDW bands. Mabel was very involved in the Berlin scene such as promoting local gigs for the early Einstürzende Neubauten in 1981 and shows at the Exxcess club which also inspired the birth of Die Gesunden. Die Gesunden did fairly well around Germany with one of the highlights being a tour in 1981 supporting DAF (Deutsche Amerikanische Freundschaft). The LP is a diverse collection of songs that display a jagged electronic quality showcased throughout with hints of power electronics mixed with synth pop. Overall, the record is a very diverse listen and will surely appeal to fans of early NDW (early Der Plan) as well as proto-industrial and experimental new-wave. At the same time, it is definitely one of a kind and has no record that it can be directly compared. This reissue is presented on high-quality 180gr opaque 'baby pink' vinyl. Features slight alteration and reinterpretation of the original front cover and redesigned back cover. Limited edition..

les visiteurs du soir / LP

Much anticipated reissue of the seminal French synth-pop classic 'Les Visiteurs Du Soir' by Mathématiques Modernes. Released in 1981 on the famous Celluloid imprint, this masterpiece has been out of print since its initial pressing. Mathématiques Modernes was the project of keyboardist Claude Arto and vocalist/lyricist Edwige Braun-Belmore. Arto has also worked with French bands Artefact and Spions. Also, to note, the late French producer Jacno also worked on the Mathématiques Modernes record. This gem needs no introduction to the fans who have enjoyed the classics from this era. The record is a very diverse blend of new-wave, almost progressive arrangement, baroque melodies, complex rhythmic structures, and plenty of so called 'cold wave' sprinkled in. The addition of horns was not a common finding during these times and is also represented on this eclectic record. Probably the most well known track, "Disco Rough" was a single as well as was later included on the popular comp, 'So Young But So Cold, Underground French Music 1977-1983' released in 2004 on Tigersushi Records. It is staple in many Dj sets with its sassy lyrics and jagged synth hooks. The album features string arrangements which was somewhat unique to the new-wave scene. Most notably, the track "Jungle Hurt" displays the wonderful arrangements that interface well with the synth textures and percussion. The track "A+B=C" has also been featured on various Flexi-pop comps and has a quirky melody accented by xylophone. The final track on the LP is an interesting medley of various tracks on the LP with interesting transitions. This LP has become very collectable for original copies and is quite expensive. The original tape masters have been restored and remastered by Gilbert Castro of Celluloid Records. The sound quality is unparalleled. This project has been the collaboration between Mathématiques Modernes, Gilbert Castro, and Medical Records. The jacket features original reproduction artwork on the front and back. This record will surely need to make a mandatory arrival in the collections of fans of French new-wave, early synth-pop, and lovers of all things late 70's/early 80's. Presented on 180gr grey opaque high-quality vinyl in a limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Bonus insert included as well with interview of Claude Arto by Dave Segal plus other interesting tidbits.

nice mover / LP

Quintessential 1st album by Gina X Performance. Gina X Performance was composed of the charismatic Gina Kikoine (vocals/lyrics) along with famous German producer/musician Zeus B. Held and backing band. Released in 1978 on various labels including EMI, 'Nice Mover' has been out of print on vinyl format since 1980. Zeus B. Held has previously worked with the band Birth Control and has recorded multiple solo albums as well. 'Nice Mover' has been an internationally regarded electro/disco record with various tracks appearing on compilations throughout the years. The track "No G.D.M." (a tribute to famous gay actor/writer/personality) was a club hit on both sides of the Atlantic and remains a commonly heard track on better DJ sets to this very day. It is made up of an infectious slow driving disco-esque beat with perfectly aligned and arranged synth accompaniments. Gina's unmistakable and truly unique vocals and lyrics set this record apart from its contemporaries. Tackling controversial subject matter such as transgenderism, exhibitionism, and other fetishes , this record has left a deep mark on the history of new-wave and electro/disco. The title track "Nice Mover" is a cosmic sequenced synth hit and also has appeared on various compilations. The bouncing "Be A Boy" is a high-nrg dancefloor cutter that illustrates the internal thought processes and daydreams of a female longing to become a male. "Black Sheep" continues this theme and is a very catchy number with bonus sheep sounds to keep it interesting... The closing track "Tropical Comic Strip" starts off with peaceful cricket samples and piano and builds into a bombastic production that is a fitting close to the record. Master recordings provided by Zeus B. Held and remastered by Lafayette Masters, Freiburg. Officially licensed from Mr. Held (KGBeat Productions) directly. This is a seminal work of electro/disco/wave and is essential for fans of late 70's wave-synth-disco crossover and the like. Original reproduction artwork is preserved on the front and back. Presented on high quality 180gr 'bone' colored vinyl in a limited edition pressing of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Includes bonus insert with liner notes and interview by Kurt B. Reighley.

explorer and yellow power

Artist : Tony Carey

Label : Medical Records LLC

explorer and yellow power / 2x12"

Groundbreaking electronic classic 'Explorer' and its sister LP 'Yellow Power' by none other than the multi-talented Tony Carey. Tony Carey needs no introduction, but for the uninitiated, he is a keyboard whiz and legend originally from California. He is clearly most famous for his work as keyboardist in the 70's band Rainbow (alongside Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio) up to 1977. He then embarked on a solo career with multiple charting records under his own name. In the mid-late 70's, he took up residence in Germany and began working in Peter Hauke's studio. Carey embarked on a period of intense experimentation and mastery of various studio equipment, songwriting, and the like. Influenced by what Tony referred to as 'euro-electronica', the product of these enlightening sessions became "Explorer", "No Human", "TCP", "Heaven", and "Yellow Power". Medical Records has chosen to reissue the highly-sought after 'Explorer' LP along with 'Yellow Power' as a 2LP package. Rumor has it that 'Explorer' was intended to be demos for the 'Yellow Power' LP but was released without his permission. Eventually both of these brilliant LPs were released on X Records in 1982. Though both LPs have similar tracks, the overall mixes and feel of the 2 LPs are vastly different. Instrumental and very catchy, 'Explorer' is the more stripped down almost proto-techno meets synthed out Italo disco while 'Yellow Power' has a more polished, well-rounded and produced sound with a different array of instrumentation and alteration in mood. Both of these LPs were sadly bootlegged in 2009 with much inferior sound quality. The originals (as well as the bootlegs) are long out of print and fetching high prices in the collector's markets. This special release combines both of these lost classics in one convenient 2LP set. Released in a sturdy gatefold jacket with 'montaged' new artwork on the front and back but preserved original covers in the inside of the gatefold, it is a gorgeous reissue. Released on double colored 160gr vinyl (LP1 is green and LP2 is baby blue) in limited edition of 1000 hand-numbered copies. Release also includes a special bonus insert with a retrospective and interview by Dave Segal. Fans of proto-techno, early synth-based disco, and left-field wave/electronica will need this gem in their collection.

Play was made up of Wayne Kennedy & David Rome, and all of their output was released on Survival (home to Drinking Electricity, Hard Corps, and Richard Bone). David Rome previously had worked with the recently passed Martin Lloyd in the group Analysis (later evolved into Oppenheimer Analysis) as well as was the founding member of Drinking Electricity along with Anne-Marie Heighway. Play released 3 singles between 1982-1984, and a compilation LP 'Red Movies' in 1985 (which compiled a majority of the singles but not all). All of these singles are now out of print and collectable. The Medical Records reissue of 'Red Movies' is complete with 2 extra tracks not featured on the 1985 compilation LP including 3 remixes. Play can be best described as perfect moody synth-pop. The songs exude excellent synth work by both members as well as the sprinkled in jagged/angular guitar work by David Rome (so well illustrated on the Drinking Electricity output) reminiscent of UK post-punk. The songs also tend to lean towards new romantic at times but are more sparse yet dynamic. The LP features preserved original front cover art (of the UK version as the Japanese version was slightly different). Back cover art is slightly modified to include updated credits and additional photos of Wayne Kennedy. Pressed on high quality 180gr 'half & half' colored vinyl (blue and red) in a limited edition. Pffffeeewww!

untitled / LP

Compilation/reissue of the UK underground duo Laugh Clown Laugh. Composed of Sam Findlay and Dominic O'Brien, Laugh Clown Laugh hailed from the northeast Somerset town of Frome (100 miles west of London). Though the band only had 1 actual released track ("Feel So Young" featured on a 1984 101International 2LP comp), the duo recorded many more tracks literally in their living room in the early 80's. Inspired by early 80's synth-pop, they were able to purchase early Sequential Circuits and Korg synths as well as a TR606. What resulted from these home recordings on tape are some of the most young at heart, sincere, and amazing synth-pop the world has never heard. Due to lack of publicity/etc, these recordings sadly have been stored away until recently as a cult following has mounted after the attention and correspondence with Crispy Nuggets blog. In addition to the driving, infectious earworm that is "Feel So Young" (and the dub version), this LP is composed of 10 never before heard songs from those home recordings. All tracks have been transferred and restored from the original tapes with dazzling results. This LP will certainly appeal to fans of earliest Human League, Oppenheimer Analysis, and earliest Vince Clarke era Depeche Mode (but even more sparse). Presented on 180gr transparent orange high-quality vinyl in a limited edition. Bonus insert included as well with liner notes by Kurt B. Reighley and other tidbits. Fantastic release !

youth / LP

MR-023 is the release by Munich's Body 11. Body 11 is/was the one-man project of Tim Stickelbrucks. Inspired by the late 70's/early 80's icons such as OMD, Human League, and Cabaret Voltaire, Tim wrote and recorded 4 songs in 1987 in his apartment and self-released the 'Mind' 7" ep in 1988. Rather obscure at the time, the 7" gained cult status later in the 90's when collectors and word of mouth fans began seeking out copies of the record. Soon thereafter, the cost of obtaining an original skyrocketed on the collector's market. This reissue includes the 4 original songs along with unreleased recordings created at the same time. The unreleased tracks were songs that were distributed only on cassette (to friends, etc) at the time. The tracks have been transferred from cassette and have been remastered by Jacob Jacobsen for this reissue. The LP embodies the essence of the EBM subgenre that was prevalent in the late 80's. Though retaining a DiY/demo feel, the tracks have a warm synth-beat laced mood that will surprise and delight fans of this era who are not knowledgeable of Body 11. Fans of early Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, late 80's industrial (Wax Trax, Nettwerk) and even early Skinny Puppy will find this collection essential. This reissue/collection is presented on high-quality 180gr 'milky clear' vinyl. The jacket art was envisioned by Tim Stickelbrucks with inspiration from the original 'Mind' ep front cover art. Features bonus insert with liner notes by Kurt B. Reighley. Tip !!

Label : Medical Records LLC

electroconvulsive therapy vol.1 / LP

1st compilation LP on Medical Records. A collection of extremely rare and sought after singles and rare tracks. It includes 5 complete A + B sides as well as 2 other tracks that only appeared on obscure compilations in the early 80's. The 1st 2 tracks are by UK's The Electronic Circus. featuring Chris Payne (who also performed synth work on the iconic 'Pleasure Principle' by none other than Gary Numan), the track "Direct Lines" is pure synth-pop perfection. The 2nd featured artist is Boston's Psychic Youth who released one lone 7" in 1982. One of the members, Perry Geyer, was also a founding member of the industrial outfit Manufacture. "Step In Time" and "The Future Is Now" are both dense minimal synth hits that have been remastered by Mr. Geyer himself. Another excruciatingly rare 7" is the self-titled single by UK's Aaah…! "Slip Away" and "Duty Calls" further fit the bill for moody minimal synth-pop greatness. Possibly even more rare is the Shazam single released in 1983 in the UK. Both tracks from the single are included here. The 2 "Wild Card" tracks if you will on the record are "Panic In Your Mind" by N.A. Pop 2000 (UK) and "Maske" by Berliner Strasse (Yugoslavia). Both tracks were plucked from rare wave compilations from the early 80s'. The final single featured is the solo outing by Claude Arto from Mathématiques Modernes. Released in 1981 on Celluloid (France), the 2 tracks drip synthetic bloops and blips while being propelled by rhythmic electro sequences. A perfect closing of each side of the LP. This collection will certainly appeal to fans of the rare minimal synth culture, early stripped down synth-pop, or anybody else who has wanted even one of these tracks on wax again as they are all quite rare. Limited 2017 repress edition on 180gr vinyl !

Artist : Paul Nelson

Label : Medical Records LLC

vortex / LP

1st reissue originating from the Pacific Northwest region of the USA in association with 2510 Records in Portland. MR-024 is the one and only release by Portland's Paul Nelson. 'Vortex' was released in 1981 on Paul's own Optiman Systems Inc imprint. Paul grew up around Portland and had a strong background in music and music theory. He built a PAIA synthesizer when he in junior high and developed a keen intuition into analog synthesis. Eventually he purchased a MiniMoog and was very influenced by Alan Parsons, ELP, and ENO. Armed with more gear as time went on, Paul was offered an opportunity to record his own album which led to the Recording Associates sessions during which 'Vortex' was born. The LP was also half-speed mastered at JVC Studios in CA. 1000 copies were originally pressed and self-distributed by Paul. The opening track "Automated Man" which also happens to be the only track with vocals, is a slab of genuine electro greatness with it's sharp synth hooks and vocoded vocals. The LP takes many twists and turns with many tracks of sequenced pulsations, electronic drums, and rhythms reminiscent of the sci-fi soundtracks mixed with a healthy dose of almost proggy space/cosmic disco crossed with later-age Tangerine Dream. "Vortex 2" is a perfect example of the above description with imagery of a Blade Runneresque chase scene meets Carpenter at his most upbeat. "Labyrinth" takes more a more relaxed synth odyssey approach with slower percussion and a spacier vibe overall. The rest of side 2 "Vortex 3-4-5" is a magnificent build up of ambient soundscapes that morph into a slow cosmic burner and fades out again into the darkness to close the LP. All tracks have been restored and remastered by Paul Nelson for this release. For many years this LP could be found in the PNW in record bins but over the last decade, it has been become quite rare which has led to it fetching rather high prices on the collector's market. For fans of library synth, sci-fi soundtracks, and other more sequenced electronic acts such as Tangerine Dream, Axxess, and minimal synth. This reissue is presented on high-quality 180gr splatter paint on opaque white vinyl. Features exact reproduction of the front and infamous back covers. Contains bonus insert with in-depth interview with Paul Nelson by Else Teicher. Limited edition.

undisciplined strips of emotions / LP

1st contemporary artist on Medical Records with the Paris-based Illustration Sonore. The duo, consisting of Dasz (also in Dolina and Ame De Boue) and Christina (aka Froe Char), expertly craft dark and atmospheric songs laced with unbridled passion in the context of synth-laden melodies, dominant percussion and pensive vocals. Illustration Sonore started in 2010 and have played many concerts in Belgium, France, Germany, and Italy. Illustration Sonore uses variations of electricity to control oscillators and frequency modulations. Best described as synth-gaze, dark-wave, or no-future pop, Illustration Sonore recorded this full length LP in 2013. The opening track "Ulysses", sets the mood with uncompromising intensity and passion with serious low frequency tones and catchy synth drenched hooks. The dreamy and brooding "Our Bodies" starts the B-side and is a definite standout tracks. The wonderful and melancholy pop track "Flying Lights" is also included on the LP and was previously featured on the lovely compilation 'Circuit D'Actes 3' on the French La Forme Lente imprint earlier this year. The relentlessly apocalyptic "Cannibals" is yet another magnificent track worth mentioning here. For fans of EBM/synth-heavy industrial crossover, lovers of Cabaret Voltaire, Chris & Cosey, modern synth-wave and the like, these tracks will not disappoint. Illustration Sonore has no fetishism for the old nor obsessions for the new, and they draw their inspiration in synth-pop and surrealism. Presented on high-quality 180gr ultra-clear heavyweight vinyl. Features bonus LP insert with lyrics. Front cover design by Temple Vengeance. Limited edition.

Artist : Roladex

Label : Medical Records LLC

anthems for the micro-age / LP

2nd contemporary artist release with Roladex. Imagine Kraftwerk playing Steven Merritt songs. Roladex was formed in Texas by Tyler Jacobsen & Elyssa Dianne. Producer/member, Tyler Jacobsen holds an MFA in Electronic Art and this becomes apparent as they find lyrical and musical inspiration through the films of David Cronenberg and John Carpenter, the works of authors such as J.G Ballard as well as video artists such as Vito Acconci and Nam June Paik. Jacobsen has been on a hiatus from his work as college art professor since the formation of the group. Using an arsenal of analog instruments, Roladex nostalgically borrows ideas from music of the past to carefully craft a unique brand of futuristic-mechanized pop, with an emphasis on songwriting and layered production. Weaving sparse, sequenced arpeggios into fuzzy bass and bubbly melodies to create a bed of sound where they layout a somehow bright melancholia. Part minimal synth-wave, part dream pop, Roladex fits nicely with other non-traditional pop acts such as Ariel Pink as well as Synth contemporaries like Police Des Moeurs and Black Marble. At times their music cold and moody, at others it is bright and dimly warm. Themes such as nuclear war, cosmology, false memories and technology become apparent as the listener plays through the LP. Fans of early Wire (esp 154), Drinking Electricity, Fad Gadget and even noisy 90's shoegaze are sure to enjoy. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight electric blue transparent vinyl and features a bonus LP insert with lyrics. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Limited edition.

untitled / LP

Reissue of one of Germany's most interesting records. The German duo Aloa only made one album in 1982, but it is one of the most peculiar and innovative records of the Neue Deutsche Welle movement. Long out of print, somewhat obscure, and very expensive, this record is due for an official reissue. The duo consisting of Al Kanz & Matthias Brendel both grew up in Kassel, Germany. Though both had different tastes of music, they fused influences and injected them into their own unique blend when they purchased Roland 606 and 808 drum machines plus a Sequential Circuits Prophet 5. After much development and evolution, the Aloa project came to life. The album explores a whole spectrum of textures, moods, and atmospheres. Ranging from dark complex synthed-out tracks to diverse instrumentation-laced almost krautrock motifs, this album is definitely one of a kind. This is a very sultry record as well evidenced by the band's constant obsession with sexy women who occupied their time. Sadly the record was overlooked and misunderstood by the press and radio stations alike likely due to it's obvious unorthodox and experimental interpretation of synth-pop. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight green vinyl. Features bonus LP insert with liner notes and interview by Dave Segal. Limited edition.

electroconvulsive therapy vol.2 / LP

For Record Store Day 2014, Medical Records presents 2 exclusive releases celebrating the classic disco of 80's Italy. The 2nd release is a very special compilation of very rare and sought after A & B sides (plus 2 more hand-selected tracks) of 3 italo-disco iconic 12" singles that were originally released on the legendary Fuzz Dance label (a sublabel of Materiali Sonori). This is volume 2 of Medical Records' 'Electroconvulsive Therapy' series which celebrates rare singles in the synth/wave/disco genre. The 1st single needs no introduction to lovers of disco. Trophy "Slow Flight" (vocal + instrumental versions) was released in 1982. A very hard-hitting percussive track with very interesting production that is quite gritty yet smooth with it's vocoded vocals and synth melodies. The 2nd single which is probably the most rare is Zed "Plastic Love" vocal + instrumental versions that were released in 1983. Sultry female vocals and pulsing electro sequences make these 2 versions absolutely essential. The original single is commonly bought and sold in triple digits so both A & B sides were included here. Clocking in at the 3rd position on both sides are the vocal and instrumental versions of "Hesitation" by Mya & The Mirror which is a production by Alexander Robotnick (Maurizio Dami) with female vocals. Also included as bonus tracks at the end of side A & B are Mon Bijou's 'Just A Lover' and Naif Orchestra's "Check Out Five". Both are unstoppably catchy and were released on Fuzz Dance as well in 1984. For fans of classic and the synthy side of italo-disco (i.e. Casco, Sun La Shan, Amin Peck, etc). Remasterd by Mino Cavallo with additional mastering and restoration by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Presented on high-quality 180gr striped 'italian flag' colored vinyl. Very limited edition.

vintage robotnicks / LP

For Record Store Day 2014, Medical Records presents 2 exclusive releases celebrating the classic disco of 80's Italy. First up is a very special hand-picked selection of early singles as well as previously unreleased on vinyl tracks by Alexander Robotnick (aka Maurizio Dami). Maurizio Dami needs no introduction and has been one of the pioneers of the disco/electronic scene since the early 80's. The 1st single on the record is "I Wanna Believe" which was released under the moniker Gina & The Flexix in 1985 on the legendary Fuzz Dance label (an Italo Disco sublabel of Materiali Sonori). It is a rare 12" single featuring a dancefloor stomping beat, melodic synth leads and female vocals. The other single on the compilation is the 7" version of "C'est La Vie" which was released in 1987. Most of the LP is comprised of tracks recorded from 1982-1984. Many tracks feature the characteristic vocal style originally exhibited on the international club hit "Problèmes D'Amour". This is a special collection that will appeal to the disco freaks. Presented on high-quality 180gr tri-color transparent blue/purple colored vinyl. Very limited edition.

Medical Records in close collaboration with Disko Obscura Records presents a special split 7" showcasing 1 new track each by ((PRESSURES)) & Roladex. ((PRESSURES)) hails from New Orleans. They craft their unique futuristic icy tracks on a museum's worth of analog synths and drum machines. This release follows their 1st LP on Disko Obscura entitled 'Casting Shadows'. Their contribution "The Voices" is a propulsive and dripping with synth textures track featuring vocoded vocals. Roladex hails from Seattle. Blending girl/boy vocals with catchy pop hooks drenched in a seductive melancholy, Roladex also uses a plethora of vintage gear. "Glass Statuette" is their new track for this 7" and features their signature sound with a bit of an evolution into Moroder-esque cascading arpeggios. Fans of both artists will surely want this in their collection. Features original artwork for the 'double A side' on foldover insert style by both artwork that nicely complements the music contained therein. Pressed on high quality transparent yellow vinyl. since the accident / LP

Severed Heads reissue of 1983's 'Since The Accident' LP. Severed Heads are one of the most diverse and expert sound palette engineers and are also repeatedly overlooked and far underrated. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, they formed in 1979. The band was composed of many different members though it's existence but Tom Ellard has always been the constant since 1979 when he joined the band. The group's early recordings were characterized by manipulated tape loop experiments, cleverly modulated noise elements and repetition. This period is very well suited to the early industrial period. Over time, the sounds morphed into more melodic leanings with pop elements and more prominent synth leads and backbone. 'Since The Accident' was released in 1983 on UK Ink Records. The LP exemplifies the transition point between experimental structure and loops into the catchy pop hooks that would later define such releases as 'Rotund For Success'. Difficult to classify, it is a masterpiece of electronic music. The opening track "Relic Of The Empire" is a slow sequenced magnificent piece with time-stretched samples overlaid with multiple tracks to create a symphony quite unlike anything heard before. The hit "Dead Eyes Opened" (charted in 1985 as a single) is a dancefloor friendly track with crafted synth hooks fused with bursts of noise intertwining with interesting vocal samples. "Gashing The Old Mae West" is a perfect example of how the record can take a dark turn into the style of the earlier Severed Heads with jagged industrial crunched out tape loops and folding in and out samples. Though signed to 80's industrial label icon Nettwerk in North America and often classified in the same vein, these records are not easily definable and actually have a life of their own. Though commonly misclassified with a lot of the late 80's industrial/goth scene (as well as touring with Skinny Puppy at one point), Severed Heads would be more accurately in good company with acts such as Cabaret Voltaire, early Coil, Chris & Cosey (and CTI), and the like. Long out of print and a rarity on the collector's market, it is presented with original repro jacket. Remastered by Tom Ellard form the original source masters. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight black and white vinyl. Features bonus LP insert compiled by Tom Ellard with ephemera from the time. Limited edition.

Severed Heads reissue of 1985's 'City Slab Horror' LP. Over time, the sounds morphed into more melodic leanings with pop elements and more prominent synth leads and backbone. 'City Slab Horror' was released in 1985 on UK Ink Records. The LP though 2 years after 'Since The Accident' continues to carry the torch illustrating the evolving transition between experimental structure and loops into the catchy pop hooks that would later define such releases as "Rotund For Success". This LP seems to move slightly into darker territory in general with it's synth textures and slower tempo tracks but overall has a nice continuation feel from 'Since The Accident' yet with obvious technological evolutions. The opening track "Spasm" drags the listener down the Severed Head mental rabbit hole instantly with it's heady samples and eloquent drum machine rhythm. "Spitoon Thud" is a rambunctious affair with it's cacophony of samples and percussion. "4.W.D." is a great sneak peak into the sound of the Severed Heads LPs to come with it's treated vocals and pop hooks. Next to last is the amazing "Goodbye Tonsils" track which is unstoppably catchy and features more of the creative use of samples which made this group so interesting. Though signed to 80's industrial label icon Nettwerk in North America and often classified in the same vein, these records are not easily definable and actually have a life of their own. Though commonly misclassified with a lot of the late 80's industrial/goth scene (as well as touring with Skinny Puppy at one point), Severed Heads would be more accurately in good company with acts such as Cabaret Voltaire, early Coil, Chris & Cosey (and CTI), and the like. untitled / LP

Debut full length release of Kline Coma Xero. A self-titled LP influenced largely by the sterile and isolated iconography of authors such as Philip K. Dick, William Gibson and JG Ballard (from whence the bands name is derived). Formed in 2012, Kline Coma Xero is a group whose work embraces elements of early minimal synth wave with distinctively thoughtful lyrics and evocative melodies. Kline Coma Xero's Tony Williams has had his roots planted in various projects in the past, spanning a realm of styles from experimental noise, tape loops and early industrial. Using a writing style that employs the use of hardware sequencers driving analog instruments rather than computers, Kline Coma Xero produces a uniquely oblique interpretation of past-meets-present in modern electronic music. Previously Kline Coma Xero debuted in 2013 with the track "Left Behind" which was included on the 'Circuit D'Actes 3' (La Forme Lente label) compilation which is the opening track on this LP. The 2nd track "Rewind" is amazingly catchy and reminiscent of the best hybrid of analog synth-pop overlaid with Front 242 style vocals. Other standout tracks are the 2nd side opener "Mannequins" with it's razor sharp lead synths as well as the dark and brooding "Casualty Ward". Kline Coma Xero will certainly appeal to fans of analog minimal synth, EBM, and the more melodic side of industrial as well as specific acts such as Fad Gadget, Suicide, John Foxx, or Martial Canterel. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight colored splatter on opaque white vinyl and features a bonus LP insert. Limited edition.

happiness and contempt / LP

Very special double A side reissue of Fullerton, CA band Null And Void. Null And Void recorded 3 albums (1980's 'Happiness And Contempt' , 1982's 'Montage Morte' and a 3rd in 2012). Both of the 80's LPs have relatively short playtimes, so we have decided to reissue both in their entirety on each side of this reissue. Hailing from a very diverse musical scene, Null And Void forged their own sound fusing elements of new-wave, post-punk, cabaret and less characterized roots. Both of the LPs have gone long out of print and have become collectible with the resurgence and interest in post-punk and new-wave. Different from the often colder synth and wave scene, Null And Void headed into a more punk sound with heavier overtones and quirky hooks. The opening track "All The Old Humans" displays poignant synth lines before the track takes off into a total rock anthem. "Un Sedatif Ce Soir" is a standout track on the 1st album with twists and turns chock full of smoldering synth lines, jerking rhythms, and other surprises. The 2nd album 'Montage Morte' displays the evolution of the band just 2 years later after the debut. A slightly different mood overall, it has a more DiY home recorded feel. The opener "Motorcycle Song" is very catchy and tends to keep the listener humming it their mind for days to come. "Japanese Forest" is a gorgeous simple number with atmospheric soundscapes coated in melancholy vocals and texture. This LP will appeal to fans of early post-punk / wave hybrids and other unclassifiable early 80's acts that defined this wonderful 'scene'. Contains bonus insert with multiple writings and reflections by band members, friends, and the like. Presented on high quality 180gr blue vinyl.

'83 / LP

Medical Records is beyond elated to finally present to the world the 1st official reintroduction and reissue of the iconic IKO '83 LP. This coveted album by minimal synth aficionados around the globe has been out of print and very rare since it's original release in 1982. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, IKO has always been shrouded in mystery. All 3 members come from an academic background (electroacoustic composition, etc), and they met at the University of Montreal in the music department. Taking from their collective influences of 60's pop, prog and minimalist composers as well as early industrial, they played in a few early bands before solidifying the all-synth incarnation of IKO in it's definitive lineup. The LP was originally released on Manhattan Formula. Other than Rational Youth, the Montreal synth scene was small, and the band broke up not too long after it's release. Over the years, it has slowly achieved cult status of the highest order and now fetches inflated collector's prices on the open market. It even prompted an unauthorized bootleg LP a few years ago. The master for this very special reissue is transferred and EQ'ed from the master analog tapes. The opening track "Approach On Tokyo" sets the mood with it's electro hooks and almost 'Trans-Europe Express' synth parts. "Gonadotropic Synthesis" is an amazing slow and beautiful synthy melodic number which blurs the lines between love song and a lecture on hormonal interplay out of a medical textbook. "Digital Delight" is a fast paced dance floor favorite with cyborg lyrics and catchy hooks. The LP contains one never before heard bonus track "Jungle City" which is a bit of a more ominous and dark track as compared to the other album tracks. This LP will appeal to the legions of people who have been patiently waiting for an official reissue as well as the un-initiated fans of classic synth-pop, Kraftwerk, early Human League and the like. Features a bonus insert with interview and retrospective by Dave Segal. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight half and half yellow and black vinyl. Essential !!

the official anthology / LP

Medical Records in collaboration with Crispy Nuggets present a collection of tracks by Post Industrial Noise. P.I.N. was an 'audio artsemble' conceived in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio by the trio Robert Crise Jr, Gerald F. Nelson, & Dana Riashi Ritchey. They started on a drum machine, guitars, and vocals but quickly evolved to one member on synths and 2 guitarists on occasional synths. Robert Crise Jr maintained a studio titled "The Center For Contemporary Realism" where he conceived most of the lyrics for P.I.N. Gerald F. Nelson was a local performance artist, and Dana Riashi (OSU art student) claimed to be the 'idea-mediator' between Robert & Gerald. Robert produced a flexidisc of P.I.N. material through an Ohio Arts Council grant and distributed it through the OSU art tabloid 'Dialogue'. The accompanying article from Cleveland's Spaces Gallery noted P.I.N. to have 'redigested their input from influence bands such as Tangerine Dream, PIL and Kraftwerk, to produce their own unique sound'. P.I.N. performed mainly in galleries and occasionally clubs at the time. They produced a cassette release and were soon feeling the pressure to specialize towards more concrete art performance or club venues. It was this pressure that soon led all activity of P.I.N. to a strangling halt unfortunately. Robert soon left Ohio for graduate studies in Detroit where he remains a 'future archeologist' today. Gerald & Dana then proceeded to form the outfit Near Paris. The output of P.I.N. could be described a more experimental/minimalist offshoot of new-wave with pleasant synth sequences blanketed in rich synth tones. Fans of Near Paris will obviously draw comparisons, but the overall feel of P.I.N. is a bit darker and possibly more lo-fi in all aspects. The opening track "Sketch" has a definite coldwave vibe with slightly echoed vocals over a subtle drum machine beat and monotonous synth lines. "Prelude" is a deep instrumental cut with synth and sample interplay resulting in a hypnotic slab of brilliance. The tracks on this collection have been restored from the original analog tape reel for this reissue. For fans of the previously reissued Near Paris and other synth outfits such as Chris & Cosey, early 80's new-wave, and even more edgy artists such as Suicide. Remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight colored vinyl.

consumer behaviour

Artist : Le Cliche

consumer behaviour / LP

Medical Records presents the debut full-length release of Le Cliché, entitled 'Consumer Behaviour'. The album consists of 11 songs influenced largely by European synth-pop of the late 70's and early 80's (The Human League, John Foxx, OMD, early Depeche Mode, Japan, Gary Numan, Propaganda and Kraftwerk). More recent influences include the 1st album by Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Tiga, Benny Benassi, Erlend Øye and Ladytron. The music might be best described as minimal synth, synth-pop, postmodernist, cold assembly line with neo consumerist themes, based on the use of synth sequences and virtual voices. The inspiration for the subject matter of the songs comes from the many inconsistencies and ironies of the current consumer and consumption centered society in which we live. Le Cliché is the synth project of Gerard Ryan, native of Limerick (Ireland), Associate Professor of marketing and consumer behaviour at the Rovira I Virgili University in Spain and a Visiting Fellow at Cornell University, New York. Le Cliché was initially established in 1984 when Ryan was a teenager, but later the project was put on hiatus in favour of a career in academia. Le Cliché was re-ignited in 2012, motivated by the appearance of new music from the 80's that was being rediscovered and released by a host of relatively small but hugely motivated new record labels including Medical Records, and the like (and groups such as Dark Day, Mathematiques Modernes, Bal Paré, Ceramic Hello, and Experimental Products). When in 2012 the track "Waiting On The Internet" emerged as a reflection of Ryan's doctoral research on the frustrations and anxieties experienced by consumers when interacting with computer technology in the use of the Internet, the Le Cliché project was revived. Since then the main source of inspiration has come from Ryan's work as an academic, taking a critical view of the inconsistencies of the marketing centered approach to business and the all-pervasive reach of marketing activities in our daily lives as consumers (rather than citizens). All of the tracks on the album are from the 2012-2014 period except for "I Woke Up This Morning (like I always do)", which is a reimagining of a 1984 demo of the track entitled "I Dreamt I Was Dead". 2 tracks on the album reflect on the everyday mundane, often drab, act of waiting in line, whether in situ, on the phone or on the Internet ("Thank You For Holding" & "Waiting On The Internet"). "Production Line", is the mostly instrumental opening track to the album which clearly displays its Kraftwerkian influences. "Production Line" reflects on the so-called sweatshops that produce many of our most beloved brands but often fail to adequately compensate workers for their labour or protect basic worker rights. It contemplates the fact that that most of these workers will never be able to afford the designer brands they churn out day after day in overcrowded factories and often-deplorable conditions. Other tracks deal with topics which are more personal and intimate such as Aquaphobia and Ventolin, thus giving some indication of the personality behind the music. The album was written and recorded in Catalonia, Spain (2012-13) and during the harsh winter of 2013-14 in frozen upstate New York, USA. The Le Cliché sound is attained by combining a mix of old and new technologies. In this sense, both analogue and virtual instruments are employed thus obtaining a unique mix of old and new technologies. The LP is presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight colored white vinyl and features a bonus LP insert.

land in sicht / LP

Medical Records returns to Germany for another piece of the Neue Deutsche Welle story with the reissue of the one and only album by Tse-Tse. Long out of print from it's original 1983 pressing on Neuland Tonträger, it is due to be heard again. Tse-Tse were Claas Mehlhop & Clement Hülse. The duo met in Hamburg at a disco. While Claas was a medical student and trained flutist, Clem was a school drop out playing in a German punk band (Hermann's Ogrie) which he joined when he was only 16. They hit it off and spent a lot of time listening to early Human League, Virgin Prunes and other oddball stuff from the time. In between hanging out at trendy bars at some point, Clem took a tiny toy Casio keyboard over to Claas's place. They began improvising and playing through the home stereo. The drum machine sounds were simply whatever was built into the cheap gear, and everything was recorded on a cassette tape player. The songs came together quite easily with key changes and rhythms evolving quite instinctively. A friend of the band ran an independent record label and insisted they go into the studio. They recreated their homemade tunes and added some vocals, sax, bass, and effects. They did use a Korg MS20 and Roland Drumatix which they now had access to. Following the recording, Clem moved to Berlin and later London. He played in multiple grunge bands, but none of them had any use for the novelty toy synthesizers (which at this point were deteriorating rapidly). Back in Hamburg, Claas finished the album but shortly thereafter he suffered a serious accident. Sadly this was the end of the band, and none of the pieces were ever performed live. Clement is still playing in bands today and works as a web designer. Claas eventually finished his medical degree and moved to Berlin. He continued to play music with Temple Fortune who released several albums. He is now an established psychiatrist. The album is a very interesting hybrid of minimal instrumentals interspersed with unique more melodic tracks with vocals. There seems to be an almost prog element (in the most stripped down of fashions) and a clear knack for experimentation. After the brief intro, the 1st track "Land In Sicht" highlights the duo's mastery of novelty keyboards highlighted by restrained use of synth and bass guitar with moody vocals. Whereas the 1st side tends to feature more traditional style synth oriented tracks with vocals (though still quirky and atypical), the 2nd side evolves into long convoluted instrumental pieces with samples and an array of synths and drum machines in a more heady fashion. Highly recommended for fans of the NDW genre and especially those fans of Die Gesunden, instrumental tracks of Der Plan, and even the synth stylings of Soft Cell. Remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight green transparent vinyl. Limited edition.

Artist : Peine Perdue

Label : Medical Records LLC

disparitions / LP

Medical Records returns to France (by way of Berlin) to present the 1st full length vinyl LP by contemporary artist Peine Perdue. Peine Perdue was born in 2010 from the meeting of Berlin-based artist and musician Stephane Argillet and Coco Gallo. Peine Perdue finds its inspiration in a certain geometry, poetry and clearness in music and art such displayed by the cold abstractions of XVIIIth century harpsichordists (Couperin, Pancrace Royer etc) to the graceful minimalism of Erik Satie, the sugar uncluttered pop of the 60's yéyé and finally to the arithmetic synth-pop of the early 80's. Among the artists and personalities that emulate their creativity are, among others, Delphine Seyrig, ESG, Elli & Jacno, Anna Akhmatova, William Onyeabor, Luisa Casati, André Cadere, Rainer Fassbinder or Robert Bresson. Construction, vertigo and symmetry with sensitivity but without sentimentality. Integrating the above references into a delicate mix with very personal and cinematic sensibility led by the obsessive sensuality of Coco's voice. Previous releases have included a cassette on Vocoder Tapes in 2012 followed by a 6 track vinyl EP on Kernkrach Records (Germany). Their 1st full length was a CDR in 2014 on Cold Beats Records. They have toured extensively as well in Europe in between recording sessions. The material on this LP is comprised of all new material written in late 2014. Despite it's articulate minimalism, the tracks are very compulsive and lend themselves seamlessly to the dancefloor as well as to the soundtrack to a dark late night rendezvous. Coco's vocals synergistically complements the fragile and perfect synth lines and beats. Standout tracks include "Surprise Partie", "Noyes" and "Cerceaux" though the entire record flows beautifully from track to track. This record will appeal to fans of the aforementioned legendary French synth pop acts and the like. Mastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight blue vinyl. Limited edition.

electroconvulsive therapy vol.3 - obscure singles circa 83-86 / LP

Medical Records continues their unearthing of extremely rare singles in their 'Electroconvulsive Therapy' series. Once again, teaming up with Crispy Nuggets blog, they have assembled yet another collection of long out of print and underground singles and rare tracks. This compilation includes 3 complete A + B sides from 7" singles + 4 other rare songs (2 from cassette, 1 A side of a 7", and 1 track featured on a rare 80's compilation LP). All original tracks are impossible to find for less than a mint on the collector's market. The 1st 2 tracks are by Belgium's Tipical Me from the 'Claustrofobian / Pope No Hope' 7". These 2 tracks are perfect synth-pop in every way. The 2nd artist is UK's Secession, and we have included their debut 7" released in 1983. Though known for their later more electronic based pop and dance tracks, these 2 tracks display their earlier dark beginnings with chilling guitars and a more early 4AD aesthetic. Both tracks from the 7" are included. The 3rd artist is France's Leidenschaft who released one lone 3-song cassette in 1986 with 2 of the tracks featured here. Leidenschaft could loosely be compared to early Clan Of Xymox with French cold wave leanings. The 2 cuts are very atmospheric and lovely indeed. Back to the UK, they included the wonderfully minimal A + B sides of the rare 1984 7" by Black Fantasy. Original copies of this single have been selling for insanely high prices these days. 2 more tracks were also included on this compilation which complete the theme nicely. V.U.D. was an Italian outfit who recorded a track entitled "Look!" which was included on the 'First Relation' compilation LP released in 1983 on Mask Productions and curated by Lisfrank. Quirky and undeniably catchy, we absolutely adore this track as will everybody who hears it. The last track included on this LP is the A side of the rare 1984 7" by UK's Almost Alone entitled "Blue City". Dense and atmospheric synth-pop with definite new romantic tendencies, this track is a perfect closing track for this diverse collection. This collection will certainly appeal to fans of rare minimal synth, early synth-pop, or EBM. This compilation allows anyone who has desired to have one or all of these quite expensive tracks on vinyl in the best sound quality possible. Additional mastering by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. This compilation and reissue was specially prepared for Record Store Day 2015 on high-quality 180gr blue & magenta 'half & half' colored vinyl. Limited edition.

early recordings

Artist : Bal Pare

Label : Medical Records LLC

early recordings / LP

Medical Records presents a hand-picked selection of the early recordings of Germany's Bal Paré. The band started as Jeanette & Das Land Z in 1981 with a 7" on Konkurrenz Rec./ Phonogram which included 2 cover versions ("Raumpatrouille" soundtrack from a weird science fiction TV series and 60's Grand Prix Eurovision number one hit, "Poupée De Cire, Poupée De Son" by France Gall.). The 7" became an underground hit. Members were Kirsten Klemm (vocals), Jan T. Krahn (synthesizer) & Matthias Schuster (synthesizer, beatbox). The band changed their name to Bal Paré and begin recording independently. In addition, drummer Jürgen Weiss joined the band. The band name was based on the song "Es War Beim Bal Paré" from the German chansonette Hildegard Knef, which was a musical influence beside bands like Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, etc. The 1st Bal Paré LP 'Hamburg-Paris-Catania' was released in 1982 on Konkurrenz Records. The members performed under witty pseudonyms for that record. Since they had a large fanbase in Sweden, the 2nd release ('Metamorphose') came out in Stockholm on the Krautrock label. Around this time, a new member Manfred Asmus joined on keyboards and programming and Jan T. Krahn and Jürgen Weiss had left the band. There were many tracks produced during this time that ended up unreleased. Much of the material from this selection of tracks were culled from unreleased sessions from the 80's with Manfred Asmus (and subsequently also collected on the 'Best Of' CD only release in 1996 on Tatra Records). Interestingly there was only one gig by Bal Paré in Hamburg with Apoptygma Berzerk and Sabotage Q.C.Q.C. Due to requests since 2000, Matthias Schuster has reformed Bal Paré and has released several new records with much success. The original 2 LP's are long out of print and demand very high prices on the collectors market. This is the 1st time this collection has been reissued on vinyl. The opening track "Rien" is a perfect display of what synth-pop is modeled after. Rich lead synth textures, male/female interplayed vocals, and electronic percussion. Though the entire record flows with ease and captivates the listener from beginning to end, other standout tracks include "Palais D'Amour", "Die Idioten" and "Meilleur Du Monde". This collection is absolutely crucial for fans of early new-wave such as Deux, Moderne, Performance and other similar acts of the genre. The tracks have been lovingly restored by Matthias Schuster. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight red/clear vinyl.

synesthesia - the first five years / 2x12"

Medical Records is celebrating their 5 year anniversary as well as 50th release! Medical Records was founded sometime in 2007/2008 but released it's 1st double header of reissues in may 2010 with the (at the time) little known Deutsche Wertarbeit (MR-001) and the 1st album by famed italo/synth-pop guru Alexander Robotnick (MR-002). Since the beginning, Medical has pledged to bring back long out of print and lost new-wave, synth, and disco LPs from the 70's & 80's. With an emphasis on high quality heavy vinyl (with a dizzying array of colored wax), these essential records have been made available again at a reasonable price for collectors and new fans to cherish once again. Over time, they expanded their palette to include new artists with a similar aesthetic to our vision as well as crucial 90's reissues in the shoegaze and other unclassifiable genres. With collaborations with Crispy Nuggets, Light In The Attic, and Portland's 2010 Records, the back catalog of releases have spanned much ground. For this 50th release, they have chosen to release their 1st retrospective with a twist. This double LP features a hand-picked selection of tracks intended to highlight our past reissues on the 1st 3 sides. Featuring such standouts as Lou Champagne System, Tony Carey, Gay Cat Park and many more, it is a very nice representative collection. The 4th side of the double LP is a unique collection of our new (contemporary) artists performing specially selected cover versions of tracks featured on our past reissues. Examples include the sultry "We R" performed by Roladex (originally by Chrisma on 'Hibernation') and "Click" performed by Kline Coma Xero (originally by Disco Volante). This collection will surely be a treat for the fans who have been following their evolution over time and will especially prove to be a staple in anyone's collection who would like some of their reissued hits on one concise compilation. All reissue tracks and new tracks have received additional remastering and mastering (the new tracks) by Martin Bowes at the Cage Studios, UK. This collection will appeal to aforementioned lovers/collectors of rare new-wave, private press synth, cosmic/italo disco, vinyl djs, and many more! This double LP is housed in a specially designed gatefold heavy sleeve featuring the Medical logo in a 'color blindness test' on the front with the gatefold filled with thumbnails of all 50 past releases. Presented on high-quality 160gr colored vinyl.

ektakröm killer / LP

In celebration of Record Store Day (Black Friday), Medical Records returns to France for the reissue of the very rare and sought-after Video Liszt LP. 'Ektakröm Killer' was released in 1981 and had never had never been reissued or repressed. The artist behind Video Liszt was Xol, a French journalist and musician. Commanding a multitude of analog synthesizers, Moog modulars, an EMS vocoder, and an Apple Two computer, Xol crafted a very diverse album with styles ranging from sci-fi synth soundtracks, prog, space disco, and all the way to more accessible electro-pop. The album was produced by Richard Pinhas (Heldon, Moogi-Le-Moog) and recorded in Pinhas's Studio Ramsès. Pinhas contributes guitar as well. Also of interest was that Jean-Louis Rizet (from French space rock group Pôle) engineered the record! Lovers of Einzelgänger, Jean-Michael Jarre, Kraftwerk, as well as late period Heldon will be head over heels with this hidden gem. Original copies have become very collectible and expensive in the 2nd-hand record market. Presented on high quality 180gr classic black vinyl with the original reproduction artwork and bonus insert with the original artwork from the 1981 release's inner sleeve.

weltweit

23.49€

Artist : Monopol

Label : Medical Records LLC

weltweit / LP

Long out of print Neu Deutsche Welle cult classic album 'Weltweit' by Monopol. Released in 1982, 'Weltweit' was the sole output of the band. It has appropriately become quite rare and difficult to find with the resulting high prices to obtain an original copy. Inspired by the greats such as Kraftwerk, YMO and Klaus Schulze, the 3 members crafted an exquisite collection of pop songs played on a very impressive collection of analog synthesizers, self-builds and drum machines that were considered cutting edge at the time. The band would have recorded a 2nd album but split up before that was possible. Members of the band continued to be involved in the music industry at least peripherally but didn't participate in further collaborations or bands. Also nterestingly, Monopol was basically a studio-only project and actually never played live (despite some TV appearances). The album has been remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Contains a special bonus insert with lyrics and photos. Definitely a must-have for fans of NDW such as Grauzone, Reingold and the like. Presented on high quality 180gr classic black vinyl. Limited edition.

stretcher

26.79€

Artist : Severed Heads

Label : Medical Records LLC

stretcher / LP

Reissue of Australia's Severed Heads and their 1985 release 'Stretcher'. The Severed Heads story continues with the expanded and 'Stretched' 2LP reissue. After personnel changes in 1985 (Garry Bradbury and Paul Deering left the band), Sev was now down to a 2 piece (Tom Ellard and Stephen Jones). Stretcher was originally released to be a compilation to introduce the band to an American audience, but it was ultimately sold in 3 versions due to other countries desiring their own version (an EP in Canada and England and an LP in Australia). The name was taken from the sign on the emergency stretcher at the front of every Sydney ferry during that era. This version is based on the 'Volition' release (Australian version) but with all the tracks from the other versions for a full collection of 17 tracks over 2 LPs. A bit more 'accessible' than the previous 'City Slab Horror' with a number of dancefloor stompers filling out the collection such as the 12" versions of "Halo" and "Petrol". The collection mostly consists of new tracks written for the multiple releases for each country release but also contains a few older tracks remixed and even a demo version of "Harold And Cindy" which would be later fleshed out on 'The Big Bigot'. The Heads toured the LP across Australia in 1985 resulting in a lot of 'exciting adventures with audiences who wanted to kill us' (said Tom Ellard). 2 other interesting facts in regard to this collection is that it was the 1st time Sev used MIDI and a DX7 and every track has some radio signal mixed in there somewhere, always by accident. The original version(s) are all long out of print and becoming rare on the collector's market. Presented in a beautiful gatefold 2LP on high quality classic black 160gr vinyl with original artwork as well as new gatefold layout by Tom Ellard with extensive liner notes detailing the back story and creation of each individual track. Get lost in it.

mechanic soldier

Artist : Effetto Joule

Label : Medical Records LLC

mechanic soldier / LP

Hailing from Bologna, Italy in the late 80's, Effetto Joule were brothers Flavio & Valero Biagi, Massimo Chericoni and Valerio Tassinari. Drawing on influences of the early 80's new-wave and synth-pop scene and armed with an arsenal of synthesizers (Korg Poly-800, Roland alpha juno-1 and juno-2, etc) from the mid 80's, Effetto Joule crafted their own sound. With the exception of the few of the tracks, almost all were home recorded during the years of 1988-1990. Effetto Joule self released a couple of cassettes entitled 'Ultraviolet' A and B as well as one 12" single in 1989 on Top Sound Record (recently reissued by Mannequin Records with bonus material). The rest of their music has been unreleased demos from which 3 tracks were hand selected. The tunes can best be described as densely new romantic with unquestionably catchy hooks and lovely vocals to boot. Standout tracks include "Active Ray" and "Stars Your Memory". Fans of Visage, early Depeche Mode and Dare era Human League will need this slab of wax in their collections to cherish. Presented on high quality 180gr colored vinyl. Limited edition. Remastered from cassette from the artist's archive by Martin Bowes at the Cage, UK. Contains 4 digital bonus tracks!

technophelia

Artist : Geneva Jacuzzi

Label : Medical Records LLC

technophelia / LP

1st full length LP in 5 years by L.A.'s Geneva Jacuzzi. To say Jacuzzi is a multifaceted artist would be an understatement. She is well known for her uncompromisingly obtuse synth-driven pop and one-of-a-kind performance art that is comprised of one time only spectacles and installations. Her works have been presented in famous art institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA and numerous other venues across the globe. She has developed a very focused cult following in the art AND music scenes. She was originally well known for her multitude of self-released home recordings but also released a full length 'Lamaze' in 2010 on the Vinyl International to much acclaim. Not to mention her track "The Sleep Room" featured on The Minimal Wave Tapes Vol 2. 'Technophelia' is the culmination of a hybrid of DiY and professional studio recordings (with the help of esteemed producer Chris Coady) that resulted in this exquisite album. Features the soon-to-be-hits "I'm A T.V." and "Cannibal Babies". Lovers of unique and left-field wave such as Gina X, Ronny, and the like will be transfixed by the raw, oozing newness of it all. All tracks recorded/performed by Geneva Jacuzzi with additional production by Chris Coady at Sunset Sound Studios. Mastered by Josh Bonati. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight white vinyl.

a derangement of synapses

Artist : Red Fetish

Label : Medical Records LLC

a derangement of synapses / LP

Hand-picked selection of home recorded demos from Stoke, UK's Red Fetish. Armed with a Korg 770, Yamaha CS10, Korg Rhythm 55, a guitar here and there and a Teac 244 4-track recorder, the band consisted of Neale James Potts & Mike Richardson. Red Fetish featured members from All The Madmen and Decades By Night and later evolved into The Cone and Tiger Club. These tracks were recorded in 1982-83 and all culled from various cassettes that the band recorded. The tracks for this special release (technically not a reissue) were hand picked by Medical Records out of a large demo collection (often multiple versions of certain songs). Red Fetish was heavily influenced by UK late 70's new-wave as well as rock staples such as Pink Floyd, Beatles, and Hawkwind. The songs are built from very minimal and sparse synth lines yet the overall feel is interestingly dense and warm. Standout tracks include the playful and futuristic "Modern Age" and "The Last Man". A few of these tracks were previously released (different version) on a 7" on Anna Logue (Germany) but most have been largely unheard until now. Sprinkled in amongst the catchy vocal pop songs are quite a few very warm and synth heavy instrumentals as well such as "The Immortals" and "Blaze". This collection will absolutely be another piece of the highly intriguing and ever-deep well of minimal synth acts such as other contemporaries Oppenheimer Analysis, Twilight Ritual, Iron Curtain, and the like. Certainly fans of early Human League (especially The Future), early cassette culture wave and similar will enjoy this collection immensely. Remastered from cassette by Martin Bowes. Presented on high-quality 180gr heavyweight half and half colored vinyl (red and white) with sleeve design by Steve Lippert. Limited edition release.

untitled

23.99€

Artist : Ironing Music

Label : Medical Records LLC

untitled / LP

Reissue of a very obscure Australian gem from the 80's. Ironing Music were a 3 piece band from Brisbane. They originally formed in 1984 as a result of their collective love for New Order, Human League and eventually Jean Michel Jarre and Cabaret Voltaire. Comprised of bass and electic guitar, Yamaha DX-7, melodica and an 808, they recorded a 12" single as their sole outpt in 1985 in a limited run of 250 copies (obviously excruciatingly rare now!). It was recorded in their bedroom studio with at Teac 4 track. The video clip for the hit "Shopping Bag Women" was played on several national and local television music shows. They also recorded demos in hopes of landing a LP deal which unfortunately didn't attract any takers at the time. They actually only played 3 gigs and were forced to disband after one of their members fell ill in 1986. The LP presented here included the original 4-track single as well as hand picked demos which nicely congeal to form a well rounded LP documenting the band's brief existence. They can best be described as lo-fi synth-pop with an emphasis on excellent pop songs and interesting synth/instrument arrangements. The 1st track "Shopping Bag Women" is infectiously catchy and just screams to be worn out in the club. Fans of early to mid 80's synth-pop and new romantic will fall in love. The tracks have been lovingly remastered by Martin Bowes at the Cage, London. Features original reproduction of the front cover painting. Presented in a limited edition on 180gr colored vinyl.
